The DICE Center at the University of Nevada Reno is currently recruiting participants for an ongoing research study. Our research is focused on working with people of color who have been negatively impacted by racism or discrimination.
We are recruiting participants who have experienced racism, discrimination, or adversity due to their identity. Exposure to racism can negatively impact mental health, resulting in anxiety, depression, feeling unsafe or scared, low self-esteem, or difficulties connecting with others. You might be a good candidate for our study if you have lost interest in activities or avoided places or people due to fear of being discriminated against, or if you’re experiencing negative thoughts about yourself or others.
Our current research study is focused on piloting treatments that are specifically tailored for people of color that have been negatively impacted by racism. We are offering participants 12-14 weekly one-on-one therapy sessions at no cost. Our services are confidential and offered in English and Spanish. Our study takes place at the Psychological Services Center on the UNR campus. You must be 18 years old or older, identify as a racial minority or person of color, and have previous experiences of racism or discrimination in order to participate.
If you are interested in participating, you can fill out our screener by scanning the QR code on our flyer. You can also call us at 707-641-4880 or email us at [email protected] if you have questions about the study. Thank you.
