The New Paltz Central School District is seeking a School Lunch Cashier to perform routine cashier duties, operate a cash register, make change, and maintain simple cash records and reports.

Qualifications include:
Working knowledge of simple math
Ability to operate a cash register
Ability to add and subtract rapidly when making change
Ability to maintain simple records and reports
Honesty and reliability
Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position

IMPORTANT – PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT:
This position must follow Ulster County Civil Service eligibility and hiring requirements. The appointed candidate must take the School Lunch Cashier Civil Service examination when it is next administered and score within the required range to be eligible for permanent appointment. If the appointee does not qualify for the Civil Service eligible list, they may not continue to hold the position.

Welcome to the Middle School, Grade 6 students! On August 25, our newest students took their first steps as sixth graders and received a warm welcome from their older peers, teachers, and administrators. While parents got an overview of the Middle School experience from Principal Ross Hogan, students toured their new surroundings and learned what to expect during the school day—including changing classrooms and mastering the art of opening their lockers!

After each student learned their combination and successfully opened their locker, they found a useful prize inside: a daily planner to help them stay organized throughout the school year. 🗓

The event wrapped up with students, parents, and staff gathering in the courtyard for refreshments, courtesy of the Middle School PTA. 🍪

We can’t wait to see you on the first full school day, September 2! 😀

The New Paltz High School Class of 2030 has officially arrived! On August 25, our incoming freshmen and new students gathered for orientation and got their first taste of life at New Paltz High School. Students met with Principal Dr. Samuelle Simms, School Counselors. Molly Messina, Stephanie Popper, and Dr. Tara LaMonica, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Peter Bianco, Freshman Advisor Souad Kurzban, and many other members of the High School team.
They got a head start on everything from clubs and activities to grading, AP and dual-enrollment courses, and career exploration opportunities. They also toured the building with a little help from their older peers, getting the inside scoop on their new school and all it has to offer.

It was a great first step into High School—we are excited to welcome the Freshman class and new students to NPHS!
