ACPS Family Support Services was delighted recently to host another amazing family event! This "Sensory Friendly Activities" support group took place at the LaVale Library of the Allegany County Library System, and was organized/hosted by the brilliant, Mrs. Shea Morse, M.Ed. (who attentively engaged with everyone - collectively and personally - and also made library resources available, upon request).

Families enjoyed refreshments, made friends, and visited stations with a variety of sensory themes, and folks were singing praises about this much-needed support group when it also quickly became a mini "resource fair" (and that wasn't even planned)! There were visits by the Arc of Frederick County staff, Allegany County Birth to 5 Program staff [who also had family present, and offered to help (Thanks, Kayla!)], Allegany County HRDC staff, and AHEC West even set up a complete table of information to share!

We welcomed 33 people, and 10 families were present. (One child asked while leaving if this could be a daily event!😃)

Mark your calendars for April 30th at 6:00 P.M. at Ft. Hill for a support group about feeding strategies, and no one wants to miss our annual Spring Fling on May 5th at 4:30 P.M. at Cash Valley Elementary!
