We hope you all have been having a great summer! We’re excited to announce our annual Hui o Hawai’i Summer Kickback happening on August 29th from 11-4pm on both O’ahu and Maui. Future and current OSU students are welcome to join as we bring in the upcoming school year with food, games, and good vibes.

We hope you’re enjoying your summer break! Here is our newsletter for the month of July. Incoming freshman, make sure to sign up for Hawai’i’s LAUNCH on O’ahu to help prepare for your first term at OSU. We also have our annual summer kickback coming up on August 29th and a Panda’s fundraiser coming up on July 31st. We are continuing to take kumu applications for Hōʻike until September 30th so please apply if you are interested. Last but not least, for our final senior spotlight, we’d like to to celebrate Jazlyne Nitta! 🎓💫

Jazlyne, our President, is graduating this year with a degree in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry and a Medical Humanities Certificate. After graduation, she plans to go home and enjoy the sun while applying to medical school!

Her advice for future members is, “Enjoy college while it lasts! Step outside of your comfort zone and try new things.”

Next up for our senior spotlights, we’d like to to celebrate Paige Fujiwara! 🎓💫

Paige, our Treasurer, is graduating this year with a degree in BioHealth Sciences and Chemistry. After graduation, she plans to attend the Pacific University College of
Optometry in the fall.

Her advice for future members is, “Try new things! Come out to all the meetings to meet by new people.”

Continuing our senior spotlights, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate Kealaula Cabilao! 🎓💫

Kealaula, our Hōʻike Logistics Coordinator, is graduating this year with a degree in Biology and Horiculture. After graduation, he plans to go back home and work as a vet technician, while applying to veterinary school. He also will spend time with family and friends and go beach!

His advice for future members is, “Join a club because you will find your community somewhere on campus. But have fun and make da best memories you can. 4 years really do fly by!”
