IMU - Nutrition &  Dietetics In Malaysia, we are the 1st Nutrition & Dietetics Department in the private university offering both Nutrition and Dietetics degrees.

We are the 1st undergraduate Dietetics degree programme launched in private university sector which was launched in year 2008. 5 years later in year 2013, undergraduate Nutrition degree programme was launched. This session will provide students with a glimpse into the exciting world of food science and innovation through the lens of two familiar food products, nuggets and sausages. We were delighted to host more than 30 students, teachers, and Principal Dr Dennis at IMU University for an exciting exploration of our Food Science Innovation programme.
From interactive booth activities to hands-on lab sessions, the students became true “food science detectives” 🕵️‍♀️🧪 as they explored flavours, aromas, taste perception, sugar testing, and food labelling.
Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation made the session even more meaningful and enjoyable for all of us. We are so happy to share the world of food science with such engaging young minds!

We are proud to celebrate the achievement of Dr. Wong Ting Xuan, lecturer and alumna of IMU University, who represented both IMU and Malaysia at the 17th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates in Japan 🇯🇵

Dr Wong had the opportunity to engage with Nobel Laureates, present her research on perioperative nutrition and cancer survivorship, and collaborate with young scientists from across the Asia-Pacific and Africa. Her inspiring journey reflects the power of curiosity, perseverance, and interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing science and healthcare.

Food Science Innovation team was proud to organise an educational industry visit for IMU University’s Foundation in Science students to Yakult Malaysia Sdn Bhd, bridging classroom learning with real-world food science applications 🧪🥛

From fermentation science and microbiology to food safety and quality control, students gained firsthand exposure to how scientific knowledge is translated into large-scale production of probiotic beverages.
