Is it just me, or has this Mercury Retrograde been particularly confusing? 🙃
I am so happy that it is finally stationary direct, although stationary times can sometimes feel a little tricky...🤪 Mercury goes back into Virgo on Sept. 9th, and out of shadow on the 11th! That's when we'll feel a stronger forward momentum!

Virgo loves being of service and from the 11th onwards, it is likely to feel a lot easier to make informed decisions based on clarity and discernment, that can offer a practical outcome for everyone involved! As for my decision to do my prior tax returns in the middle of the retrograde - ahem!! 😂MG

Sad to hear about the passing of one of the great astrologers of our times, Geoffrey Cornelius! My heartfelt condolences to his partner Maggie Hyde and all his family and friends! 💖

Bye Bye Leo - Hello Virgo! 🌞
Today the Sun moves out of fiery Leo, into detailed, earthy Virgo! Similarly to its fellow earth signs Ta**us and Capricorn, Virgo approaches life through a practical lens. However, it has some differences, particularly its analytical quality, which if left unchecked, can descend into, well - nitpicking! (I say this as a Virgo Asc.!!) 🤣
Anyone else with Virgo Asc., Sun or Moon?

As the Sun in Virgo moves around your chart over the next few weeks, it can help to substitute discernment for criticism, curiosity for judgement, compassion for overachievement, and acceptance for over-analysis!

Virgo’s many qualities include: humility, being of service, efficiency, helpfulness, and a love of learning and teaching.

The exact quincunx to Pluto today, which is part of a Yod (check out Carole Taylor's great blog on the Yod on our Relationshipsandastrology page), reminds us that letting go is often the most powerful and empowering action we can take for ourselves and others! Happy Virgo season everyone! 💚MG

Expect the Unexpected, with today’s Full Moon at 27° Aquarius 15, at 19.26 Irish time/2.30pm EST!

We know as astrologers that 2024 is a lot about clearing the decks of toxicity that has been long buried – mostly thanks to Pluto on its way back into Capricorn for the last time. (See my pinned post above, for more info. on this & other ongoing key transits!)

This very energetic Full Moon can be described as a bridge to the newer energies of Pluto in Aquarius! The integration is between the awakening of our collective emotional need for equality and justice, and our intrinsic requirement for individuality. With Mercury Retrograde just past Cazimi, it’s a key time to engage very consciously with our mind, to ensure that our thoughts and words are not flying out from our ego!

This FM is very powerful as it holds the potential to bring together the mounting restlessness and rebelliousness in the collective, with the knowledge that there is no ‘other’ – we are one and the same in different bodies. (FM is the release point for the Yod with apex Sun/Mercury, quincunx Pluto and Neptune). One of the challenges is the unsettled, erratic and very changeable nature of these energies, making it more difficult to ground ourselves long enough, to make conscious decisions!

The additional restless and unexpected quality of this FM is also courtesy of Uranus, as the apex of the Tsquare to the FM/Sun/Mercury opposition! The invitation is to integrate both sides of the FM which might look like one or more of the following:
⭐Consciously speaking our truth, for the benefit of the collective
⭐Based on our heart connection, making any needed changes to our values
⭐Standing in our inner power and freeing ourselves from restrictions that may appear in the guise of ‘security’
⭐Finding our tribe by being our individual self

These themes are more likely to resonate if you have planets or angles between 25° and 29° Aquarius, Leo, Ta**us, Scorpio, or Pisces. Also, if you have planets or angles between 0° and 2° Aquarius & Leo. Can you feel it?

The Mars/Jupiter conjunction at 16° Gemini 40, on Aug. 14th, 2024
At 16.17 Irish time.

Mars will appear right next to Jupiter in the sky tomorrow! If we get clear skies later, we’ll hopefully be able to see it with the naked eye tonight and tomorrow night! Not to mention the amazing Aurora’s that have been visible in so many places!

Jupiter expands Mars, and Mars ignites Jupiter! With the conjunction in the Air Sign of Gemini, the expansion and ignition is in the following areas: communication, travel, siblings, friendships, networking, information, the media, the mind, neighbors, our ideas and thoughts, languages, learning, our direction in life, what brings us meaning in life, our networks…

The conjunction can feel very exciting, particularly as it opposes the Moon in fiery Sagittarius! Ideas multiply in our mind and the square to Saturn in Pisces, suggests that our intuition plays a particularly important role at this time. Have you been noticing a greater connection with your intuition lately? Are you also buzzing with ideas, feelings, sensations, perceptions…?

With Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, retrograde in Virgo, inner preparatory work is likely to be more productive than the spontaneous launching of new projects. The invitation by Mercury Rx. is to be discerning with our thoughts and words!
