Reading the classic by Sidman "Tactics of Scientific Research" with labbies. Here's a quote for the so-called era of the replication crisis.

"The behavior of the subject is lawful with respect to controlling variables. Failure to replicate a finding, within or among species, is a result of incomplete understanding of the controlling variables." (p 62-63)

As a lab, we are reading the classic by Sidman "Tactics of Scientific Research". There are gems of thinking from the start.

"...good data are notoriously fickle. They change their allegiance from theory to theory, and even maintain their importance in the presence of no theory at all." (p.7)
