URGENT NOTICE: Elida Bus Driver Shortage

For over a year, Elida Schools have been pleading for help as a statewide driver shortage hits home. They are now 4 drivers short and it is forcing the district to have to consider drastic cuts to school transportation. Things like:

❌ No High School busing
⏰ 5th graders shifted to the early MS/HS schedule

Buses can’t run without people. There is no wiggle room left and the district needs drivers!
The district is incredibly flexible:
*Mornings only?
*Afternoons only?
*Both?
If you’ve been looking for a way to give back and earn extra income, now is the time. Help fill these 4 spots!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Deadline for Open Enrollment is August 1!
**Open Enrollment is for students that have been approved to attend Elida Local Schools but do not live in Elida School District.
For NEW student(s): you must enroll the student(s) online thru FinalForms. The link is below, and on the District website under “Forms & Links”,” Kindergarten – 12th Grade Registration for 2026-2027”. You will be asked to create a password, complete all forms listed, and upload ALL necessary documents. This must be done prior to August 1st or you may lose your seat and the open enrollment will be overturned.
For Current Open Enrollment RENEWAL student(s): If your child attended Elida for the 2025-2026 school year, you will not have to register again. HOWEVER, you must complete all forms listed in FinalForms, AND upload a new proof of residency. Acceptable proofs are listed on the Forms & Links tab. This must be completed prior to August 1st or you may lose your seat and the open enrollment will be overturned.

At last evening’s Board of Education meeting, Mr. Jaired Birks announced his resignation from the Board effective immediately. We appreciate the time Mr. Birks dedicated to the Board.
As a result, the Board now has a vacancy to fill.

Do you remember your 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C.? ❤️🤍💙

For so many of us, that trip was a major milestone; making memories that have lasted a lifetime.
Did you know that Elida still keeps this wonderful tradition alive? Our 8th graders just concluded this year's trip!

How awesome that our kids get to experience the greatness of the USA firsthand. It’s an unforgettable journey that builds proud, connected citizens.

Thank you to all the adults who helped make this trip possible, and to the families who self-fund this experience for their children!

Our Boys Team had a great showing at Regionals, placing 10th out of 46 competing teams.

It feels like we blinked and the school year flew right by! But today, the bells ring and another school year is in the books. Summer is officially here for our Elida Bulldogs. 🚌🎉

❓ Did you know? The new elementary school batting cages were funded entirely through private donations and fundraising! 🤝 This isn’t unusual…it’s normal‼️
Thanks to dedicated volunteers, projects like this preserve tax dollars and district resources for what matters most: educating our children. 📚✨
For decades, our school district has relied on these powerful community partnerships to build and enhance our facilities. You can see the impact all around us:
• Athletic Facilities: The football weight room, concession building, press boxes and fieldhouse addition.
• Youth Sports: The community youth fields.
• District Upgrades: Scoreboards throughout the entire campus, grand piano in the auditorium and many other things.
