Our research focuses on the social and cultural determinants of health in close partnership with the communities of the Southwest.

The Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center (SIRC) at Arizona State University conducts research and develops, tests, and disseminates behavioral interventions for adolescents and their families. SIRC's goal is to prevent and eliminate health disparities in substance abuse, mental health, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS risk behaviors among the Mexican American, American Indian, African American and Asain American of the Southwestern United States.
