Dear ABC, please lead by example and credit the artitsts' work featured as you have done the photographer's work throughout the article. The 'so much exposure' thing doesn't work if artists' names are never shared alongside images in major news outlets. (This is just one of those things that, for whatever reason really really grinds my gears. Sorry, not sorry) Just please, if you are going to SxS, love the show, take pics, share them on social media, but please, do read the didactic panel/ catalogue of works and share the artists' names ;)

Sculpture by the Sea exhibition returns to Perth after funding battle The annual Sculpture by the Sea art exhibition returns to Cottesloe Beach in Perth after a funding shortfall forced its cancellation last year.

Just finished my Theo Koning book. Bits the got me like from Richard Read and Andrew Lipscombe’s essays:

“Tommy affirms that those who knew him know, that Theo made art out of nothing and took interest in everything: ‘Theo lived his life totally as a creative person. His life, everything around him- people, environment, possessions and himself, his physical self and thoughts, beliefs, opinions, interests, hobbies, stuff from the side of the road, everything was made use of in his creative output.’ That included the prospect of death in every medium…”

“Following Koning’s death, Lipscombe was in the studio and spotted the tin piece (pictured). Cordon was amazed, as she hadn’t noticed it before. No doubt re-worked during the las weeks of his life, it was now augmented to read ‘A Life Lived’.”

Delighted to attend the great Theo Koning retrospective “Objet D’Art” at

Massive props to the curators who have sourced and presented a wonderful selection of work from such a vast oeuvre, across a multitude of collections and collectors.

If you have not been yet, I believe there is one more day: tomorrow!

I did buy the accompanying catalogue in order to revisit and learn more. What a treasure and true creative he was.

Spent a beautiful morning in Dunsborough in studio, learning about the Japanese art of Gyotaku with some lovely, like-minded people. 🐟

A sweeping tribute to one of Western Australia’s most inventive, mischievous and beloved artists is now open at Fremantle Arts Centre 🖤🤍

Curated by Art Collective WA member Andre Lipscombe, this is the first full retrospective of Theo’s work in Australia. Nearly 250 pieces fill the galleries and gardens, offering an intimate and expansive look at an artist whose curiosity, humour and generosity continue to shape the WA arts community.

Excellent news!!

Just reflecting back on some of the very special places I’ve been this year, the students and the projects. This was a printmaking workshop on a school visit up to the Pilbara. Focus was about regional colours and layers. End result was personalised camp and coffee mugs for the students to keep and gift to family/ friends.
