BU LALSA

BU LALSA Open to all students, LALSA was created to advance the interests of Latino law students at Boston University School of Law.

LALSA is committed to fostering an environment responsive to the needs of Latino law students. On behalf of the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA), congratulations on your decision to attend Boston University School of Law! Throughout the year, we will be here to help you be successful, respected, and accepted. We focus on mentorship, networking, and academic success to give you a leg

up in achieving your ultimate goal in attending law school - launching your career. The LALSA board members volunteer their time to help you become integrated at BU Law and in the Boston legal community. Latinos make up only a small portion of the legal profession, and networking with Latino law students and lawyers established in their careers is an essential part of establishing yours. LALSA partners with the Boston Lawyers Group (BLG), the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA), and various other professional associations in the Northeast region. Attorneys and judges who participate in these organizations work in both the private and public sector, and they are dedicated to helping high-potential law students like you attain their professional goals. Our relationships with these organizations helps Latino law students connect with established lawyers to successfully navigate toward a meaningful post-graduate career. Your participation in LALSA often enables you to waive the otherwise-costly membership costs for these professional organizations. For your immediate future, our mentorship program will prove very helpful. The second and third year LALSA mentors understand exactly what you will be going through during first year. When you find yourself strapped for time, we can help. They have advice on everything from classes to the best places in Boston to catch a drink with friends, and so will you once your law school experience progresses. We also provide leadership opportunities to those who consistently participate in LALSA and hope that you chose to involve yourself starting today. We’ll look forward to seeing you around the tower!
