Discoveries in the areas of stem cell science, synthetic biology, gene-editing and techniques related to human reproduction has resulted in a dramatic rise in bioethical dilemmas related to their clinical implementation and applications. Columbia University’s Center for Bioethics has developed an innovative one-of-a-kind program, called BioCEP, composed of online segment, on-site training programs, and on-site student visits in Bangkok, Thailand to engage in professional development. Over 125 students have participated in this program over the past decade. This year Biomedical cross-cultural Education Progrem (BioCEP) takes place in Bangkok thailand in mid June. This one-of-a-kind two week accredited program in medical ethics allows participants to see real life situations that challenge bioethical principles. Some scholarships are also available.
