BSJ students have the opportunity to attend world class trips at our school and one of them is the IB Environmental Systems and Societies Field Trip to Tioman Island, Malaysia. Recently, our Year 12 students spent 5 days on this biodiversity hotspot, developing their ecological sampling and statistical analysis skills, by collecting data in a variety of ecosystems including rivers, primary and secondary rainforests, shorelines, mangroves, and coral reefs.

Learning doesn't stop at the classroom door. Through our Scuba Diving Trip, students immersed themselves in the vibrant marine biodiversity of the Coral Triangle while building confidence, teamwork, and lifelong skills. Diving also offered a unique opportunity to practise mindfulness—slowing down, focusing on every breath, and being fully present in the moment. Experiences like these support not only academic growth but also wellbeing, resilience, and a lifelong connection with nature.
