Mr. Rommel Navarro Dominguez, PFT secured the Top 5 spot nationwide with an impressive rating of 88.75%, bringing pride and honor to NEUST and the Central Luzon region.

Bataan Peninsula State University, under the leadership of University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag and in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), is breaking traditional boundaries to ensure that deprivation of liberty never means deprivation of the right to education through its transformative College Education Behind Bars and Health Beyond Bars initiatives.

BPSU held the 3rd Midwifery Student Conferment, Apron and Pinning, Recognition, and TDP Awards Ceremony at Guagua District Jail on August 20, 2026. This event demonstrates a true commitment to public service, proving that learning and personal growth belong to every Filipino, regardless of their present circumstances.

The Commission on Higher Education led by Hon. Chair Shirley C. Agrupis, emphasized in her message the first pillar of the ACHIEVE Agenda: Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning. This expands access to education and ensure that more Filipinos have the opportunity to learn, complete their studies, and improve their lives.

A total of 21 learners are candidates for the apron, pinning, and Certificate of Midwifery; 4 candidates for the Diploma in Midwifery; 1 from Bataan District Jail; and 9 candidates for Dean's Lister were awarded during the ceremony

In line with CHED's ACHIEVE Agenda, particularly the pillars of Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning and Effective and Efficient Public Service, the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) and CHED Regional Office III (CHEDRO III), conducted a joint monitoring visit at Bulacan State University, Malolos City, Bulacan, on August 12, 2026.

The activity aimed to assess the institution's compliance with CHED's Policies, Standards, and Guidelines (PSGs) for its new academic programs—BS Environmental Planning and BS Tourism Management (Major in Travel Operations and Major in Airport Operations)—as well as its Student Affairs and Services (SAS) and Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, further reinforcing the Commission's commitment to quality assurance and excellence in higher education.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994”, which mandates the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to promote quality education and ensure the protection of students' rights and welfare, and in accordance with the provisions of the Memorandum from the Office of the Chairperson (MOC) No. 350, Series of 2026, titled “Conduct of Consultation and Dialogue of CHED Regional Offices (CHEDROs) with Region-Based Student Council Leaders,” the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) will conduct a Consultation and Dialogue with Region-Based Student Council Leaders on August 25, 2026 (Tuesday), from 8:30 AM onwards.

This activity aims to provide a platform for student leaders to communicate their concerns, share their insights, and contribute recommendations on matters affecting higher education, particularly those related to CHED initiatives, student welfare and services, academic programs, and institutional governance.

Relative to this, kindly send two (2) participants, the SAS Coordinator/Director and preferably the President or Vice President of the student council, to register and attend the meeting.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) continues to strengthen its commitment to quality, excellence, and continual improvement as its personnel participate in an ISO 9001:2015 Orientation in preparation for the upcoming ONE CHED Quality Management System (QMS) Audit.

The orientation provided CHEDRO III staff with a deeper understanding of ISO 9001:2026 requirements, quality management principles, risk-based thinking, and the roles and responsibilities of personnel in sustaining an effective QMS.

Committed in streamlining and enhancing its systems, anchored with the ACHIEVE’s Vitalized Policies, Internal Systems, and Governance, and Effective and Efficient Public Service, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO-III), through the initiative of the UniFAST Unit, held an internal Orientation and Presentation of the Integrated UniFAST Processing System (I-UPS), on July 23, 2026.

The Integrated Unifast Processing System (I-UPS) leverages smart automated checks to expedite student grant validation while keeping all records accurately and fully compliant with the existing UniFAST Guidelines.

Developed by Mr. Mark Ivan W. Cruz, the system consists of accessible features that will support the validation and verification processes of the UniFAST Unit while maintaining integrity and accuracy. This also envisions optimizing and harnessing bottlenecks and challenges encountered by the unit.

Led by the CHED Regional Office III Director IV, Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal, CESO III, and guided by Engr. Rico Jay S. Laxa, Education Supervisor II, the UniFAST is committed to enhancing and developing its system to better serve the public and to bridge the financial gap of learners through UniFAST-funded grants and subsidies.

UNIFAST ORIENTATION AND MONITORING ACTIVITY ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNIFAST SUBSIDY FOR TES AND TDP GRANTEES OF ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE – OLONGAPO, INC.

On July 30, 2026, CHED-UniFast Region 3 conducted an orientation and monitoring activity for TES and TDP grantees of St. Joseph College – Olongapo, Inc. A total of 81 grantees attended the activity. The orientation aimed to familiarized beneficiaries with policies, guidelines, and privileges under the UAQTE programs while also giving them the opportunity to raise concerns and clarify inquiries regarding their grants. All 81 grantees have already opened and activated their LandBank accounts for the release of their educational assistance. The session ensured that the grantees were properly informed and assisted regarding the UniFAST subsidy programs. Guided by the ACHIEVE Agenda, CHED REGIONAL OFFICE III remains committed to promoting inclusive access to higher education through effective and efficient public service.

Isa ako sa mga unang naging TES beneficiaries. Naalala ko pa kung gaano kalaking bagay sa akin ang TES noon. Sa isang estudyanteng nangangarap makatapos, bawat tulong ay malaking bagay hindi lang sa gastusin, kundi pati sa pag-asa na “Kaya ko pala. Makakatapos din ako.”

Hindi ko inakala na darating ang araw na ako naman ang mag-aayos ng TES papers at magiging bahagi ng proseso para matulungan ang ibang estudyante na makatanggap ng parehong oportunidad na minsang naging sandalan ko.

Nakakatuwang isipin na mula sa pagiging beneficiary, ngayon ay isa na ako sa mga taong tumutulong sa mga beneficiary.
