Here’s what one of our students shared about their experience:

"Very convenient and reasonably priced! Special thanks to Sir Andrew and all the staff for being accommodating and helpful throughout my experience.

My instructor really went above and beyond to make sure I experienced different driving scenarios that are useful for actually learning how to drive. He was very patient, friendly, and easy to learn from. I also appreciated that he always followed traffic rules and practiced defensive driving, setting a great example for a new driver like me.

Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this driving school!"

Traffic lights are the most visible set of instructions on any road, and yet the number of drivers who respond to them incorrectly on a daily basis across Cebu is significant. πŸ‘€

The green light is the one that surprises people most. Most drivers treat it as an unconditional go signal, but the correct approach to a green light at an intersection includes a brief left-right scan for vehicles that may be running a late red from the crossing direction. This takes one second. Skipping it has been the cause of countless collisions that could have been avoided.

The yellow light is misunderstood in the opposite direction. Many drivers treat it as an instruction to speed up before the red. It is a warning that the signal is changing and a prompt to prepare to stop if doing so safely is possible.

The red light is the simplest and still the most violated. Behind the stop line. Full stop. Zero movement. Phone down. Eyes up.

Save this carousel. Apply it on your next drive and notice how many of these you encounter and how correctly they were being followed by the cars around you.

At A&S Driving School, correct response to traffic signals is built into both TDC and practical training from the beginning.

Third Monday of September, and a prayer of gratitude for every journey completed safely so far this month. πŸ™

It is easy to take safe journeys for granted because the alternative is so much more visible. The accidents make the news. The safe arrivals do not. But every driver who chose patience, who slowed down on a wet road, who checked their mirrors before changing lanes, who yielded to a pedestrian without being forced to, contributed to a day where something bad simply did not happen.

That is worth acknowledging.

Pasalamat ta sa matag biyahe nga nakapauli nato nang luwas. Mag-amping sa dalan karong semanaha. πŸš—πŸ™

A minor accident happens without warning. Most drivers freeze because nobody ever walked them through what to do next. πŸ‘€

Here is the correct sequence:

Check for injuries first. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Take photos of everything immediately before anything is moved. Move vehicles out of traffic only if it is safe to do so. Turn on hazard lights and set up your EWD. Exchange full information with the other driver, name, contact number, license number, plate number, and insurance details. File a report at the nearest police station. Notify your insurance provider. Never admit fault at the scene. Let the proper process determine liability.

Save this post. You hope to never need it, but the drivers who have it saved are the ones who handle it correctly when it happens.

At A&S Driving School, being road-ready means being prepared for everything the road brings, including the unexpected. September enrollment is open. Message us today.

Tag the passenger in your life who fits one of these perfectly. πŸ˜„ No explanation needed. They will know. πŸ‘‡

In all seriousness, managing passengers as a new driver is an underrated challenge. The instinct to respond to every comment, every nervous reaction, and every unsolicited piece of advice from the person beside you is real, and giving in to it divides your attention in a way that genuinely affects the quality of your driving.

Part of what proper training builds is the ability to maintain focus even when the environment around you is not perfectly calm. Instructors who create a calm, clear, correction-focused learning environment give students the best possible foundation for handling all of the real-world distractions that follow.

At A&S Driving School, that environment is the standard in every session.

Second Monday of September, and a prayer for patience on a week of Cebu roads that will almost certainly test it. πŸ™

Traffic does not just test your driving ability. It tests your character. The way a person drives in heavy, slow, unpredictable traffic says a great deal about how they handle things they cannot control.

Have a patient and safe week, Cebu. Mag-amping sa dalan karong semanaha. πŸš—πŸ™

Merging into traffic is one of the most mishandled maneuvers on Cebu roads. Here is how it is actually done.

The correct technique involves five clear steps. Match the speed of the lane you are entering. Signal early to communicate your intention to other drivers. Check mirrors and blind spots thoroughly including a physical head check over your shoulder. Identify a gap of at least three seconds of following distance. Enter the new lane smoothly without sudden changes in speed.

On congested roads where lanes merge into one, the zipper method is the correct and most efficient approach. One car from each lane, alternating in turn. It is not about who got there first or who is being most aggressive. One for one.
At A&S Driving School, merging technique is part of real road training because Cebu's roads require it every single day.
