With regret we announce the closure of Peninsula Adult Education and Literacy. After 30 years of delivering Language, Literacy and Numeracy to adults in the local area Peninsula Adult Education and Literacy is closing. While we know there are still adults who need help building their skills, our enrolments have dropped off and it is unsustainable to continue.

Thank you to the superb Committee of Management members, dedicated staff (teachers and Admin), our wonderful 1-1 volunteer literacy tutors and everyone who has supported us over the years and we wish everyone, including all learners who have attend our classes, the very best for the future.

Art Classes for Adults
Feeling hungry to try something new? If the fabulously delicious new art premises 'The Studio'' at 200 Marine Pde in Hastings 3915 VIC don't get your creative juices going, I'm not sure what will.
Join award winning artist, Julie Niekamp, as she takes you through Artways, a folio prep class that covers everything from drawing (pencil, charcoal, pastel), painting (acrylic, oils, watercolour, gouch, ink), mixed media (fabric, collage, found objects, organic material), and maybe even simple ceramics or metal work if demand arises.

You get to create in an artists' studio, with other artist Lisa blowing glass into beautiful works and more ...

PENINSULA LITERACY INITIATIVE
Want to help your local community? Like to volunteer a bit of time each week? Become a 1-1 literacy tutor. Find out how ... Coming up on Wednesday 2nd September at 11am we have an information session for local people wanting to make a difference. Come along for morning tea and hear about helping adults on a one-to-one basis to develop their reading and writing skills to enable them to join community activities, gain confidence, even get a job, or go on to further studies.
We'll give you training and ongoing support, provide you with ideas for creating practical resources and help you every step of the way.

Just in case you've tried to visit our physical address, a reminder we have moved to 16 Henry Wilson Drive West Rosebud a couple of months ago. We are co-located with Advance Community College and are just down the road from Chisholm TAFE.

We still offer migrant English, literacy and numeracy classes at a foundation level. If you know anyone who needs help with speaking, reading and writing please pass our contact details on or give us a call on 03 5986 8177 10am-4pm Mon-Thurs.

A couple of places left in Artways - the current participants are thoroughly enjoying themselves drawing, creating, and now moving into using colour- acrylics, water colours, oils. Treat yourself to a day of 'you time' each week: great for a sense of wellbeing on emotional, mental and physical level ... No experience required!

this fabulously comprehensive art class runs from April 16 until 3rd December 1 day - Thursday - per week (excluding School holidays) from 9.30am - 3pm. Covers drawing with pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, painting in oils gouche, acrylics, watercolour, mixed media - collage, found objects, textiles.
Award winning artist Julie Niekamp will help you prepare a folio of work to gain entry into further art studies. She will cover theory and practice each week, and gently guide you in your exploration of technique and genre.
