Everyone recognizes the SVD at first sight... famous from movies and TV shows, oh and don't forget video games... Everyone knows the SVD Dragunov.
However, as a American Sniper, I always looked down on the SVD. My M24 was far more accurate, kicked less, had better optics, and on and on... I could go on for days bashing the SVD.
That said, if you look back to how old this platform actually is and look at the mission that it was actually designed to fill... Honesty quickly slaps you in the face, and I have to give credit where credit is due.
Back in the 1960s, the Soviets came up with this new concept: the Squad Designated Marksman, and this was the semi-auto accurized r***e that started that race.
Yep, the "latest Hotness" is DMRs and SPRs; both just being semi-auto accurized r***es. We loved our MK12 SPRs with their 77gr 5.56 ammo; and I loved my SR-25 MK11 through the whole global war on terror. Except, the "latest hotness" isn't new... the Soviets were rocking it back in the cold war.

The SVD is extremely dated now, but we need to give credit where credit is due. I hope you enjoy the video, TR.

You know we LOVE shooting body armor. Why? Well, because I no longer have to wear it for a living. That said, I was required to wear body armor for most of my adult life. Good armor will protect you. Great Armor with keep you comfortable while protecting you.

Yes, Level-IV/RF3 plates are best when you know you are going into a gunfight. Hell, I would've worn Level-5 if it existed. That said, there are times when being "Low-Vis" is preferred. If that is the case, you often have to go with no armor at all, because it would compromise your cover. Well, how about if you could wear armor that was ultra-concealable?
