The MEGT Star of the North Award has its roots in a long tradition of celebrating exceptional students. From 1999 to 2011, MEGT, in partnership with NAGC, presented the Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award to young people who made a meaningful difference in their communities while excelling academically or in the arts. When national funding ended and that award was discontinued, the MEGT State Board established the Star of the North Award in 2012βensuring that Minnesota would continue to recognize and honor outstanding gifted students who shine brightly in their schools and communities.
π Celebrating Celia Pratt! π
Celia is an outstanding leader, scholar, and teammate at Dakota Meadows Middle School. Accelerating in high school math since 6th grade, she shines in academics while tutoring others and competing in Math Masters, Math League, and Mathcounts. Beyond the classroom, Celia serves on Hope Squad, Student Council, and Stewardship Club, helping create a positive, welcoming school community.
From soccer and tennis to orchestra and youth symphony, Celia embraces every challenge with heart, humor, and hard work. Weβre proud to celebrate her as a nominee for the MEGT β Star of the North Award! π
