With over **13 years of teaching experience** at **Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara**—a NAAC **A++** accredited institution and **ranked 3rd in India (NIRF 2024)**—Swamiji shared profound insights on the importance of character, discipline, lifelong learning, and selfless service. As the **Controller of Examinations** and **Coordinator of the Zoology & Computer Science Departments**, he has played a pivotal role in nurturing students who have gone on to excel at premier institutions such as **IISc, TIFR, IITs, and IISERs**.
During his inspiring address, Swamiji encouraged students to pursue excellence with integrity, remain resilient in the face of challenges, and cultivate values that lead not only to professional success but also to personal fulfillment. On 07/07/2026, the Department of Computer Application (BCA), Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata, had the privilege of hosting two exceptional entrepreneurs who shared their inspiring journeys, valuable insights, and real-world experiences with our students.
🌟 Mr. Kaustav Guha – A proud alumnus of the BCA Department, demonstrated how determination and vision can transform aspirations into successful entrepreneurial ventures. After beginning his professional journey with Wipro and pursuing an MBA, he chose the path of entrepreneurship and today is a partner in multiple successful enterprises. His story highlighted that success is driven by courage, perseverance, and the willingness to embrace challenges.
🤖 Mr. Arijit Hajra, popularly known as the "Robot Man of India," captivated the audience with his remarkable work in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Space Technology. As the Founder & CEO of Think Again Lab, Lead for NASA Space Apps Challenge India, Mentor at E-Cell IIT Bombay's Eureka, and Regional Mentor of Change with Atal Tinkering Labs (NITI Aayog), he encouraged students to think beyond conventional boundaries and become creators of future technologies. Having mentored over 100,000 students across 12+ countries, his session was truly motivating and thought-provoking.
The interactive sessions inspired our students to dream bigger, innovate fearlessly, and explore entrepreneurship as a meaningful career path. Such interactions bridge the gap between academia and industry while nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset essential for tomorrow's leaders.

The Department of Computer Application, Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata, had the privilege of welcoming Prof. (Dr.) Debika Bhattacharyya, Dean of Academics and Controller of Examinations, IEM Kolkata, as the distinguished speaker for the BCA 1st Year Induction Program on 9th July, 2026.
Prof. (Dr.) Debika Bhattacharyya delivered an insightful and thought-provoking session that encouraged our newly admitted students to embrace academic excellence, cultivate discipline, develop a research-oriented mindset, and continuously strive for innovation and lifelong learning. Built entirely from the root level with an impressive budget of just ₹14,000, this project demonstrates that creativity, technical expertise, and determination can transform ideas into reality without requiring expensive resources.

The Inter-Campus Faculty Table Tennis Tournament was successfully held on 10th & 11th March 2026 at the terrace of the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) Gurukul Building, bringing together all the faculties of different campuses of IEM for two days of exciting competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
A total of 20 staff members enthusiastically participated in the tournament, making the event both competitive and enjoyable.

The Department of Computer Applications of IEM organized a 36-hour offline hackathon, “Hack{0}lution.” It was an open-theme hackathon where participants from various colleges came together to develop innovative and impactful projects.
Several workshops were conducted during the event, where industry experts shared their knowledge and guided the participants throughout the journey. Additionally, mini-events such as the “HackNest Mini Event” and “Most Engaging Social Media Post” were organized alongside the main hackathon to keep the participants engaged and motivated.
Participants were evaluated and awarded by the judges based on technical implementation, creativity, problem-solving approach, presentation, and overall impact of their projects.
