Honoring fond memories of Chuck Norris. He was part of our history. Hanshi Mack once fought against him and won. Always in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

Congratulations to our new Black Belts at Basin Karate, Othello and Moses Lake Dojos! Paisley, Zuri and JJ completed their testing — and technically they are half brown, half black belt, Shodan Ho. OK, what’s next? In one year they can be eligible to test with a new package of kata and applications, will have proven through the year that they have given much through helping other students in class, and that their lives show Black Belt characteristics of honor, respect, humility and Gambatte (do your best, never give up!) Success at their test in a year will result in full certification as Shodan — first degree Black Belt.

Even though we are OPEN on Veterans Day, we are very grateful for those who have served and are serving our country’s military services. So many lives have been touched, changed, and lost through military strife, even during times of relative peace. We enjoy hearing our students share about veterans they honor, learning about a few of those many who influenced our lives right here today. Thank them!

Did you know —- many of our National Parks Service parks honor and memorialize our veterans and the places where historical battles and military were? Check out the nps.gov page and look for Veterans Day and commemorations.

Discover America's stories. Plan your visit and explore the diverse landscapes, national parks, and cultural treasures managed by the National Park Service.
