𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 | 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲

In response to the fire that occurred at the Science City of Muñoz Public Market on June 28, 2026, the Kabahay Student Government came together to support those affected by the tragedy.

Through the generosity of our organization and the collective contributions of our fellow students, we successfully raised a total of ₱1,172.00. The proceeds will be given to the vendors and residents affected by the fire to provide assistance during this difficult time.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who donated and supported this initiative. Your kindness and generosity reflect the spirit of compassion and unity within our community. Maraming salamat, Kabahay!🤍

Our hearts go out to the families and individuals affected by the recent fire at the Old Market in Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. Many have lost their source of income and belongings, and they now need our help as they begin to recover.

We are humbly asking for your support through monetary or in-kind donations. Any amount or item, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference.

In-kind donations may include:
• Rice and other food items
• Bottled water
• Clothing (new or gently used)
• Blankets and sleeping mats
• Toiletries and hygiene kits
• Baby essentials
• Other basic necessities

The Newspeak Editorial Board, together with College Governor Mx. Euane Jose, conducted an ocular visit and inspection on July 8 at the College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI) Annex Building to identify possible spaces for the relocation of the publication and student council offices.

The inspection was conducted following the ongoing renovation of the CHSI Main Building, which prompted the Kabahay Student Government (KSG) to consider relocating its office to ensure the safety and accessibility of student services. The previous Newspeak headquarters, which also served as the KSG office during competitions and major activities, is among the areas affected by the renovation.

During the visit, the Newspeak Editorial Board identified possible office spaces, including the CHSI Annex Reading Center, the Department of Hospitality Management (DHM) front desk office, and selected rooms located at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (DHTM) Mart. Meanwhile, the KSG continues to evaluate the available spaces, with one of the rooms at the DHTM Mart being considered as a possible council office.

The ocular inspection marks the initial step toward establishing a more suitable and accessible workspace for both the student publication and council, ensuring continuous service and engagement with the student community. I via LOUISE ANGELA WYCOCO - The Newspeak

Like a blazing phoenix emerging from the ashes, it rises stronger, bolder, and more determined to uphold the values of truth, integrity, and responsible journalism.

With either excitement, nervousness, anticipation or all of the above in the air, we warmly welcome both familiar and new faces into our CHSI family.
Join us as we socialize, get to know our faculty members, learn more about our departments and programs, and discover what makes our community feel like home.
