Peer Mentoring Session for BCA-I

As part of the Student Induction Programme, the Department of IT organised an engaging Peer Mentoring Session for BCA-I students. The session was designed to help newly admitted students become comfortable with their new academic environment and develop a sense of belonging among their peers.

During the session, senior students shared their academic experiences, practical tips, and insights about college life with the first-year students.

They discussed effective study habits, time management, participation in co-curricular activities, communication skills, and adapting to the college environment.

The interactive session encouraged students to communicate freely, ask questions, share their expectations, and learn from the experiences of their peers. Various informal interactions and engaging activities helped create a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

The session proved to be a meaningful platform for interaction, confidence building, experience sharing, and peer bonding. It motivated the BCA-I students to actively participate in academic and extracurricular activities and make the most of their college journey.

Creative Writing Activity

As part of the Student Induction Programme, a creative writing activity was organised to encourage students to express their thoughts, imagination, and ideas through words. The activity provided a welcoming and engaging platform for newly admitted students to explore their creativity and develop confidence in written communication.

Students were given interesting and thought-provoking topics to write about, allowing them to present their ideas in an original and imaginative manner. The activity focused on developing creative thinking, vocabulary, communication skills, and self-expression among the participants.

As part of the Khushamdeed 2026 Student Induction Programme, an engaging Picture Description Activity was conducted for the newly admitted students of the Department of (IT)The activity aimed to encourage students to observe carefully, think creatively, express their ideas confidently, and improve their communication skills. Students were shown different pictures and encouraged to describe what they observed, interpret the situation, and present their thoughts in their own words.

The activity created an interactive and enjoyable learning environment where students actively participated and expressed their ideas. It also helped them to develop speaking skills, vocabulary, imagination, and confidence, while promoting active listening and peer interaction.The session provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and marked another engaging step towards making their transition into college life interactive, confident, and enriching.

The induction aimed to introduce students to the academic framework, campus life, and professional culture of LKCTC, helping them feel at home while setting the tone for a successful journey ahead. Interactive sessions, departmental presentations, and student engagement activities were thoughtfully conducted to spark enthusiasm, confidence, and motivation among the new students.

Dr. Nidhi Chopra, Head of the IT Department & Dean Student Welfare, motivated students to embrace discipline, innovation, and holistic learning. She emphasized the importance of communication, creativity, consistency, and continuous learning in achieving academic and career success.

Mr. Arshdeep Singh, Head of the Hotel Management Department, shared his thoughts, stating:

“Hospitality is not just a profession—it’s a passion to serve with grace and skill. We are excited to guide our students to become industry-ready professionals with confidence and competence.”

Induction Program – Day 2

Alphabet Brainstorming Activity
As a part of the Induction Program, Day 2 featured an engaging and interactive “Alphabet Brainstorming Activity”, conducted by Ms. Twinkle, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology.

The activity was designed to encourage students to think creatively, communicate their ideas confidently, and develop their problem-solving and brainstorming skills. Students were given different alphabets and encouraged to come up with words, ideas, concepts, and examples related to them. The activity created an energetic learning environment and provided students with an opportunity to actively participate and interact with their peers.

The session emphasized the importance of creative thinking, quick decision-making, teamwork, and effective communication. It also helped students overcome hesitation and encouraged them to express their thoughts freely.

The activity was well received by the students, who participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the learning experience. Overall, the Alphabet Brainstorming Activity made the second day of the induction program informative, interactive, and enjoyable, setting a positive tone for the students’ academic journey.
