As third grade students learned about the Nervous System, they diligently constructed colorful models of the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes in addition to the cerebellum and brainstem. They learned about the specific functions of these various lobes and how they relate to their ability to listen, speak, move, and learn.

Cincinnati Classical Academy had a wonderful time yesterday at the Reading Memorial Day Parade! We had 106 students and 46 parents and teachers proudly marching. Our fourth graders, under Ms. Chiu's guidance, beautifully sang the military anthems at the Reading Cemetery, honoring our fallen soldiers. A great time was had by all!

Spring Semester Gardening Club had a “Seed-to-Salad” picnic party! By the time we came outside this afternoon for our final gardening club meeting of the school year, parents had already spread picnic blankets under the poplar tree and were ready to help the gardeners harvest, wash and prep bowls of lettuce, arugula and radishes. After six weeks of tending, it was lovely to enjoy such a bountiful harvest!

What a wonderful morning at our Student Award Ceremony for grades K-3! We celebrated the incredible achievements of our young students with awards in art, music, and the core virtues. A special highlight was the fantastic Summer Exhortation by third grader James, who inspired his fellow classmates to embrace the summer by spending at least 400 hours outdoors having fun and relaxing. Congratulations to all our award winners, and here’s to a summer full of adventure and joy! Last day of school is next Friday.

A little turtle time today at first grade recess!

First grade fun at recess at Cincinnati Classical Academy! It’s been rainy, and the soggy soil has yielded bugs of all sorts. Our students constructed a citadel for the rolly-polly pill bugs on campus. Built from stone and stick and leaf, this beautiful building has these budding architects experimenting with commodity, firmness, and delight!

These five sixth grade scientists all earned the highest “superior” rating at the Ohio State science fair, qualifying CLASSICAL to receive the prestigious Harold Shaw Award. We are one of only four Ohio schools to receive the Shaw Award this year—and the only non-high school to receive the award! 🥇

We are pleased to announce that Cincinnati Classical Academy is the first-place winner of the 2023-24 Hillsdale College K-12 Scholars Cup, a friendly competition among Hillsdale Member Schools held annually to showcase the very best academic achievements of students at each school. In response to challenges unique to each grade level, our teachers had their students attempt to meet the challenge and then submit the work of one student in each grade level whose work they have determined to be the best in class.
