Rede Chambers Presents: Rede Moot 2025

The Undergraduate Law Society, CUHK (“ULS”) is delighted to present the upcoming Rede Moot 2025 (“the Competition”).

Co-organised by Rede Chambers, the Advocacy and Mooting Society, Faculty of Law, the University of Hong Kong, ULS, and the Law Students’ Society of the City University of Hong Kong Students’ Union, the three-round mooting competition provides students with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of Land Law and/or Equity and Trusts through mooting on related issues.

Preliminary Round
Date: 18th January, 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 09:30 - 18:30
Venue: Advocacy Labs, Cheng Yu Tung Tower, Centennial Campus, the University of Hong Kong
Dress Code: Law formal

Semi-Final Round
Date: 25th January, 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 09:00 - 13:00
Venue: Rede Chambers, 21/F, Jardine House, 1 Connaught Place, Central
Dress Code: Law formal

Final Round
Date: 8th February, 2025 (Saturday)
Time: 09:30 - 13:00
Venue: Rede Chambers, 21/F, Jardine House, 1 Connaught Place, Central

Eligibility
Application is open to all undergraduate and JD students studying law at University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the City University of Hong Kong. Priority will be given to those who are currently taking or have completed a course on Land Law and/or Equity and Trusts. ULS reserves the final right to decide on the eligibility of participants from CUHK.

Format
The six highest-scoring teams (two from each of the three competition rooms) will enter the Semi-Final Round. The two highest-scoring teams from the Semi-Final Round will enter the Final Round.

Applicants should form teams of two, and submit one application via Google Form: https://forms.gle/LXaHqHkmt1Y7p1ba9, on or before 22nd December, 2024 (Sunday) at 23:59. Please note that each team should only submit one application.

Eligibility
Application is open to all students registered under the Faculty of Law, HKU, Faculty of Law, CUHK and School of Law, CityU. The Festival is divided into two divisions, namely the Junior Division and the Senior Division. The Junior Division is open to undergraduate students in Year 1 and Year 2. The Senior Division is open to undergraduate students in Year 3 or above, JD, LLM and MCL students and PCLL candidates. Teams formed with one student who is eligible for Junior Division and one student who is eligible for the Senior Division should apply for the Senior Division.

The Workshop is mandatory for all Junior Division applicants and optional for Senior Division applicants.
