پاکستان میں کئی زبانیں بولی، لکھی اور سمجھی جاتی ہیں۔ ایتھنولوگ پاکستان میں 74 زبانوں کی فہرست دیتا ہے۔ ان میں سے 66 مقامی اور 8 غیر مقامی ہیں۔ انگریزی پاکستان کی سرکاری زبان ہے، تمام معاہدے اور سرکاری کام انگریزی زبان میں ہی طے کیے جاتے ہیں، جبکہ اردو پاکستان کی قومی زبان ہے۔
پاکستان کی صوبائی زبانوں میں پنجابی اور سرائیکی,صوبہ پنجاب، پشتو صوبہ خیبر پختونخوا، سندھی صوبہ سندھ، بلوچی صوبہ بلوچستان اور شینا صوبہ گلگت بلتستان میں تسلیم شدہ زبانیں ہیں۔ ایک اندازے کے مطابق گوجری کثیر العلاقائی زبان کے طور پ رہے جو ہند۔پاکستان۔افغانستان۔چین۔آزربائیجان۔ آرمینیا۔چیچنیا میں بولی اور سمجھی جاتی ہے پاکستان میں رائج دوسری زبانوں اور لہجوں میں، آیر، بدیشی، باگری، بلتی، بٹیری، بھایا، براہوی، بروشسکی، چلیسو، دامیڑی، دیہواری، دھاتکی، ڈوماکی، فارسی، دری، گواربتی، گھیرا، گوریا، گوورو، ہریانی زبان، گجراتی، گوجری، گرگلا، ہزاراگی، ہندکو، جدگلی، جنداوڑا، کبوترا، کچھی، کالامی، کالاشہ، کلکوٹی، کامویری، کشمیری، کاٹی، کھیترانی، کھوار، انڈس کوہستانی، کولی (تین لہجے)، لہندا لاسی، لوارکی، مارواڑی، میمنی، اوڈ، ارمری، پوٹھواری، پھالولہ، سانسی، ساوی، شینا (دو لہجے)، توروالی، اوشوجو، واگھری، وخی، وانیسی اور یدغہ شامل ہیں۔ ان زبانوں بعض کو عالمی طور پر خطرے میں شمار کیا جاتا ہے کیونکہ ان زبانوں کو بولنے والوں کی تعداد نسبتاً نہایت قلیل رہ گئی ہے۔ وجود کے خطرات میں گھری یہ زبانیں زیادہ تر ہند فارس شاخ اور ہند یورپی زبانوں کے خاندان سے تعلق رکھتی ہیں۔
پاکستان کے ضلع چترال کو دنیا کا کثیرالسانی خطہ ہونے کا اعزاز حاصل ہے اس ضلع میں کل چودہ زبانیں بولی جاتی ہیں-
