💙💛 That’s a wrap on the 101st New York FFA Convention for Groton FFA! 🌟
Our final day at convention was filled with celebration, recognition, and pride for all that our members have accomplished this year.
A special congratulations to Jill and Addie, who had the honor of walking across the stage to represent Groton FFA as our chapter received the Gold-Rank National Chapter Award! 🏅 This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, service, leadership, and agricultural advocacy our members have demonstrated throughout the year.
We also want to recognize Kara for earning 3rd Place in the State for Treasurer’s Book! 📘👏 Kara’s outstanding record keeping, organization, and commitment to maintaining accurate chapter financial records earned statewide recognition and showcased the importance of strong leadership behind the scenes.
Over the past three days, our members competed in Career Development Events, served as delegates, participated in workshops and sessions, completed a community service project, explored career and college opportunities, and built connections with FFA members and agricultural professionals from across New York State.
We are incredibly proud of every member who represented Groton FFA with professionalism, leadership, teamwork, and positivity throughout convention week.
Thank you to the advisors, volunteers, families, supporters, and convention staff who help make opportunities like this possible for our students.
Safe travels home,
Groton FFA! 🌾✨

🌟 Day 2 at the 101st New York FFA Convention was packed full of leadership, competition, networking, and opportunity for Groton FFA! 💙💛
Members spent the day participating in multiple Career Development Events and leadership activities that challenged their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and industry knowledge.
Groton FFA participated in the Agricultural Communications Career Development Event for the first time with team members Addie, Diella, Stella, and Eve. This competition focuses on skills used within the agricultural communications industry including writing, editing, public relations, media development, presentations, and communicating agricultural information effectively to the public. We are incredibly proud of the team for stepping outside their comfort zones and trying a brand-new event!
Our Senior Quiz Bowl team — Stella, Mya, Kara, and Jill — competed in a fast-paced agricultural knowledge competition covering topics such as animal science, plant science, mechanics, FFA history, current events, and agribusiness. The team narrowly missed advancing after losing their round by just one point. Their teamwork and quick thinking were impressive throughout the competition!
A huge congratulations goes out to Mya for earning 2nd Place in Agricultural Education! 🏅👏 This event focuses on teaching and presenting agricultural concepts while demonstrating classroom instruction, lesson planning, communication, and professionalism related to agricultural education careers.
Groton FFA was also proudly represented during the District 7 Delegate Session by Addie, Diella, Mya, Stella, and Jill, who helped represent the voices and ideas of our chapter alongside members from across New York State.
Throughout the day, members explored the convention expo where they connected with colleges, trade schools, agricultural businesses, and industry professionals. Students gained valuable networking experience while learning about future career pathways, educational opportunities, internships, and careers within the agriculture industry.
With competitions running throughout the entire day, we are especially thankful for the countless volunteers, judges, coordinators, and convention staff who dedicate their time and energy to making these opportunities possible for FFA members across New York State.
We’re excited for another great day tomorrow as we continue representing Groton FFA at convention! 🌾✨

🌟 Groton FFA has officially arrived in Buffalo for the 101st New York FFA Convention! 💙💛
Today, members had the opportunity to tour Kelkenberg Farm, where they learned about the farm’s diversified operation including dairy, livestock, agritourism, and educational programming. Students were able to see firsthand how agriculture businesses adapt, diversify, and connect with the community while continuing to promote agricultural literacy and sustainability.
Members also participated in a meaningful Day of Service project with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization dedicated to building and delivering beds to children in need. Our students helped assemble beds that will provide local children with a safe and comfortable place to sleep, demonstrating the importance of service, teamwork, and giving back to the community.
The chapter then attended the opening convention session alongside FFA members from across New York State.
Tomorrow will be another exciting and busy day as members compete in Ag Communication, Agricultural Education, and Senior Quiz Bowl, serve as convention delegates, explore the expo, participate in workshops, and attend inspiring sessions focused on leadership, growth, and opportunity. FULLY!
We’re proud of our members for representing Groton FFA so well and look forward to an unforgettable convention experience! 🌾🐄✨

Full circle moment in the Groton Ag program 🐣💛
Four years ago, we hatched our very first chicks—and now, we’re welcoming a new group that comes from that original flock’s genetics! It’s incredible for our students to see the full life cycle come to life, from incubation to growth to genetics.
Hands-on learning at its finest, and a reminder of how agriculture truly connects generations. 🌱🐓
