Sophie Bryant, Anglo-Irish mathematician, educator and activist was born in 1850. Bryant was the first woman to receive a DSc after the University of London opened its degrees to women and worked to make sure that other women had access to education.

A wonderful piece of knowledge I discovered today, this woman learning about smallpox from Turks followed their lead and innoculated her children. What sort of observation from another culture would interest you? A dance, a tradition, a costume, a song. Have a go and jot some things down. They may lead to a story a poem a play. Good luck.

Well I never, go to the foot of our stairs, quelle surprise, gainful employment again. If I ever engaged with that channel I'm sure I'd be delighted. I don't. Please feel to write about your struggle to find employment. One stance to take is a kind of desert island approach, you know nothing, have nothing, supported by noone and want to survive. A depressing but could become an enlightening experience. Well for those who are imaginative and truthful. No happy ending required.

Typing up a poem this morning Microsoft has informed me that my use of language may offend my reader. Thanks Microsoft, I am thrilled to insert some **** ing *'s should I choose to. Until then Anglo Saxon is a language form I enjoy. Those who don't have the right not to read it. Poetry is an oral form and I will endeavour to find a sound that mimics * when I have the inclination.

Setenil de las Bodegas is a village near Ronda where some houses and streets are located under the mountain rock.

This Andalusian village, with just over 3000 inhabitants, has the unique characteristic of using mountain rocks to serve as a roof and shade for its houses and streets. The village was built taking advantage of the erosion of the rock caused by the river, and taking advantage of it to be able to build their houses.

Martha Darley Mutrie is considered one of the leading painters of flowers in Britain in the 19th century. She was born in Ardwick, near Manchester, and trained with her sister at the Manchester School of Design from 1844 to 1846. Mutrie and her sister moved to London in 1854, where they carefully arranged and painted flowers together in their home.
