On June 18, 2021, the heads of the national teams of the international project "Information System of Emergency Situations Management in the areas of Floods and Landslides with Assistance of Distributed Heterogeneous Group of Robots" held an online working meeting as part of regular online meetings. The collaborators presented the results of their research over the past three months (the previous meeting was held on March 12, 2021) and discussed the current interim results of the project and exchanged ideas for its development.

The XV Siberian Conference on Control and Communications – 2021 (SIBCON-2021) was held at the Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems of Kazan Federal University. The event was held in a mixed format: in-person and online via Zoom platform.
The General Chair of the conference this year was a Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems ( ) of Professor Evgeni Magid Magid. The Co-chair was Oleg Stukach, Professor of the Higher School of Economics.
LIRS presented 9 articles prepared jointly with collaborators from different countries.

On February 17, a senior lecturer of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) of KFU Roman Lavrenov took part in the recording of the 8th issue of the podcast "Not Rocket Science" from Russian social network VK. Alexander Kolotov, a curator of the All-Russian competitions on robotics, also took part among the participants of the conversation. The topic of the conversation was robotics, its current state and prospects. During the event they discussed modern trends in robotics.
The podcast will be released on February 18.

On February 16, the defense of Mr. Martin Pecka was held at the Czech Technical University. Mr. Pecka presented his work to get a PhD degree:
"Safe Autonomous Reinforcement Learning".
The Head of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ), Professor Evgeni Magid, was invited as one of the opponents.
The defense was held online on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The International Conference on Artificial Life and Robotics ( 2021) was held online from January 21 to 24, 2021.

Employees of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ) of the Institute of Information Technologies and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) of Kazan Federal University ( ) together with colleagues from the Center for Practical Skills of Kazan State Medical University ( ) prepared and presented a scientific report:

«Architecture of a student training computer program for preparing professional outpatient consulting skills within an electronic medical records system during COVID-19 alertness situation». Authors: Sergey Bulatov, Enzhe Kharisova, Vitaly Dudin, Artur Khazetdinov, Roman Lavrenov, Evgeni Magid.

The paper will be indexed in the Web of Science database.

On December 22, a ceremony of awarding the winners and laureates of the annual contest "Student of the year of KFU – 2020" took place at the Grand Hall of the cultural and sports complex "UNICS" of .
Students of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems ( ) of KFU took part in the competition and won laureate awards for the fourth year in a row. Bulat Abbyasov, a first-year student of the master's program "Intelligent robotics" and an employee of LIRS, was awarded the title of laureate in the nomination "Best master's student in the field of Natural and Physical & Mathematical Sciences". Ramil Safin, a first-year postgraduate student and an employee of the LIRS, also won a laureate award in the nomination "Best postgraduate student in the field of Natural and Physical & Mathematical Sciences".
In addition, the winners of the Kazan Mayor scholarship competition were awarded at the event. Ramil became one of the winners.

A first-year postgraduate student of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems ( ) Ramil Safin, who is also an assistant of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ) of the ITIS , won the annual competition of research and practical works for personal scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan among students and postgraduates.
The competition is held in order to involve students and postgraduates in research activities in the field of urban economy, culture, economy and social sphere of Kazan. This scholarship is awarded based on the results of academic and research work within the academic year.

On December 18, 2020, the final of the annual competition "Best Young Teacher - 2020" among young teachers of higher and professional educational institutions of Kazan took place. A senior lecturer and an employee of the Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems ( ) Roman Lavrenov won the competiton.

The XIII International Conference Developments in eSystems Engineering (DeSE2020) is held online from 14 to 17 December, 2020, because of the pandemic and the recommendations of health authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO) on travel restrictions.
The Laboratory of intelligent robotic systems ( ) of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems ( ) of Kazan Federal University ( ) took part in the conference. LIRS employees and students presented 6 articles.
Moreover, KFU jointly with the St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAN) (Russia), Kyoto University (Japan), Mahidol University (Thailand), National Yunlin University of Science & Technology (Taiwan), Ritsumeikan University (Japan) and the V. A. Trapeznikov Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences (ICS RAS) (Moscow, Russia) organized a section on Advanced Robotics, which is chaired by Professor Evgeni Magid.
