Hi Maynard community! The Green Meadow Elementary School project will be officially entering into the bid phase for the main project on December 4th! There will be a pre-bid walkthrough in early December, and Filed subcontractor and General Contractor bidding will be in January.

Hi Maynard Community!
The amendment signing to introduce the MSBA’s additional ($7M) contribution to the GMES project has been officially executed between the Town and MSBA! This stems from approved legislation for the Commonwealth’s FY 24 Budget which is meant to assist certain MSBA projects that have been impacted by unanticipated cost escalations. MSBA’s project share goes from 35% up to 44%, and Maynard’s share goes from 65% down to 56%!

Hi Maynard Community!

As the GMES project advances into the Detailed Design Module, the project team will be conducting soil observations via test pits and borings to understand soil composition, groundwater, etc. to help inform the sitework design, stormwater infiltration design, and the building foundation design. This effort has been coordinated with the District and Town to ensure there are no safety issues while school is in session. The plan is for the test pits to start Feb. 5th, lasting about a week, and the borings to start Feb. 20th, lasting about two weeks. We appreciate you following along with the project status!

Thank you again for all your support to get the GMES project approved to move forward with the rest of design, bidding, and construction!

We understand the value of keeping the community informed as the previously presented design is developed into a project that can be safely constructed. For a successful new Green Meadow Elementary School, the next required step is the Debt Exclusion Vote: Tuesday, November 7, 2023 (regularly scheduled statewide) 7 AM - 8 PM at Fowler for all voting precincts.

This is GREAT NEWS!!!!
On Wednesday, October 25th, the MSBA Board of Directors voted to increase the construction funding limits on the GMES project and others that achieved Project, Scope and Budget Agreement in the same timeframe we did, on eligible construction costs from $432/SF to $568/SF. This increases the maximum MSBA grant, which needs to be confirmed in our Agreement, on the project by approximately $7M, so the MSBA share vs. Maynard share ratio changes from 35%-65% to 44%-56%.
