We invite all graduate students to attend our upcoming CECH GSA panel on January 29th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, titled Breaking Barriers: Confidently Conducting Research Under SB1. The panel will take place in TDC 407 and on Zoom and is designed to provide guidance, clarity, and practical insight for navigating research under SB1:

Researching controversial topics in today’s climate can feel daunting—especially with new legislation like SB1 shaping the landscape. This interactive panel brings together faculty voices, research professionals, and student perspectives to help you navigate these challenges with confidence. Learn practical strategies for topic selection, funding, and proposals while gaining clarity on SB1’s impact.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
* Explain the impact of SB1 on research involving controversial topics.
* Identify strategies for navigating sensitive or controversial research areas.
* Increase confidence in selecting research topics under SB1 guidelines.
* Navigate funding opportunities for research under SB1.

Please RSVP via GetInvolvedUC. We hope to see everyone there.
