MDAS – Order of Operations
MDAS is a way to remember the correct order to solve mathematical expressions without parentheses. It stands for:
M – Multiplication
Do all multiplication first, from left to right.
D – Division
Do all division from left to right, after multiplication.
A – Addition
Next, perform all addition from left to right.
S – Subtraction
Finally, do all subtraction from left to right.
Note: Multiplication and division are done in the order they appear, left to right. The same goes for addition and subtraction.
