Celebrating Iris Linck — an Outstanding Graduate Nominee in Computer Science. 🎓✨

Iris recently completed her PhD at the University of Colorado Denver, where her research pushed video-coding efficiency forward using CNN and quantum-CNN models. 📡💻

Her work supports real-world applications in high-resolution broadcasting, surgical imaging, and more.
During her PhD, she interned at Los Alamos National Laboratory, applying high-performance computing to stochastic systems and building the HPC expertise that shaped her next steps. 🔬⚡

Now, Iris is stepping into a postdoctoral position at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). 🌎📘

Her research will focus on LLMs for code modernization—merging AI and HPC to accelerate scientific computing in Earth system science.
Her journey through CU Denver’s Graduate Program in Computer Science opened new doors academically and professionally. She’s deeply grateful for faculty mentors like Professors Gita Alaghband and Salim Lakhani, who supported her growth in research, teaching, and leadership. 🙌📚

Iris’s dedication, impact, and curiosity continue to shine—and this nomination celebrates everything she brings to the field. 💫🔗

🎉 Meet Outstanding Graduating Student Nominee: Kaiyang Qian! 🎓

Kaiyang is completing his M.S. in Computer Science and plans to pursue roles in software engineering and data science, with future interest in a PhD in AI. 🚀🤖

His master’s thesis developed a vision-based framework for assessing Parkinson’s disease severity, combining machine learning, kinematic analysis, and medical imaging — a major highlight of his graduate work. 🧠📊

Kaiyang also contributed to the CDOT UAS Program, helping design a unified drone management system used for statewide operations. 🚁⚙️

Alongside his research, he has completed projects in deep learning, microservices, and real-time web apps, showcasing strong full-stack and AI engineering skills. 💻✨

🎉 Meet Outstanding Graduating Student Nominee: Braden! 🎓

Braden is completing his B.S. in Computer Science and continuing on to his master’s degree along with a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity & Defense. 🔐💻

His capstone project, Metallic AI Intelligent Agent Testing, showcased his backend engineering skills as his team built a platform comparing chatbot responses across test cases. 🤖✨

He has also made incredible strides in public speaking—growing from presentation anxiety to confidently presenting in large lecture halls. 🎤👏
