We are pleased to offer a variety of PAID teacher fellowship opportunities this Summer 2026 for educators to collaborate on the development of science and mathematics curriculum resources. Additional details can be found below (and on the application form. FYI: There is not money for travel/room accommodations.

Professor Mike Reppert - Chemistry and Mathematics Teaching Fellowship
**Selected teacher will receive a stipend of $3,000.00 upon the completion of their responsibilities.
**Teacher responsibilities:
Create Educational Content: Assist in producing instructional videos for the STEM Certificate module: Understanding the Fourier Transform.
Research & Coding: Learn to use Jupyter Notebooks via the nanoHUB server to run Python scripts.
Acoustic Analysis: Connect Mike’s current guitar research to the classroom by conducting acoustic measurements and analyzing data through software.
Curriculum Building: Assemble a set of free, open-source Jupyter notebooks that teachers can use to bring these Python-based experiments to their own students.
The selected teacher will schedule dates (15 days total) to work on campus with Prof. Mike Reppert and his research group. Scheduled days do not need to be consecutive. There will be support for campus parking, but not money for travel/room accommodations. All work will need to be completed by July 31, 2026. Upon completion of the specified work, a stipend of $3,000 will be paid to the teacher fellow.
Professor Lei Wang - Environmental/Atmospheric Teaching Fellowship
**Selected teacher will receive a stipend of $1,000.00 upon the completion of their responsibilities.
**We are searching for a high school teacher to help create a weather/ atmospheric science unit.
The selected educator will need to work with K-12 Outreach Coordinators (Steven and Sarah) and Dr. Wang to design a unit and supplementary materials that can be offered as part of our Hands-on Purdue Science (HoPS) program for high school classes.
Work can be completed remotely; however, preference will be given to teachers who can work some days in person on the West Lafayette, IN campus. There is not money for travel/room accommodations.
All work will need to be completed by July 31, 2026. Upon completion of the specified work, a stipend of $1,000 will be paid to the teacher fellow.
College of Science - Middle and High School Teaching Fellowships
**Selected teachers will each receive a stipend of $2,000.00 upon the completion of their responsibilities.
**Purdue University College of Science K-12 Outreach is seeking middle and high school science teachers to develop STEM education materials. Two teachers will be selected. Each teacher will develop materials for 26 of the STEM Careers featured in our STEM Careers Repository (https://www.purdue.edu/science/K12/LabPages/careers.php).
Both selected teachers will be responsible for developing supplementary materials. These resources will be organized into monthly themes, such as National Chemistry Week and National Earth Science Week.
**For each career highlighted, teachers will produce:
STEM Career Highlight Page: An engaging overview of a specific professional field to accompany one of the videos in the STEM Careers Repository.
Student STEM Activity: A hands-on or inquiry-based activity corresponding to the career.
Teacher Newsletter: A guide explaining the career's relevance.
Social Media: Drafted posts to help share these resources with the broader educational community.
Work for this position can be completed remotely. Selected teachers will attend regularly scheduled Zoom meetings to brainstorm themes, share progress, and collaborate with university staff and fellow educators.
There is not money for travel/room accommodations. All work will need to be completed by July 31, 2026. Upon completion of the specified work, a stipend of $2,000 will be paid to each teacher fellow.
