Many students count on Social Enterprise to help pay their school tuition and to help support their families.
But Social Enterprise is temporary not possible due to Covid-19.

Planeterra's Bike with Purpose in Belize

On the remote island of Caye Caulker, before 2008, students often had to travel to the mainland to receive quality education. This barrier led many by the age of 12, to choose to quit school and join the workforce.
Ocean Academy High School opened in 2008 as the very first community high school on the island of Caye Caulker. Its programs aim to reduce school dropout rates and reverse the growing unemployment issue by providing hands-on and practical tourism education, in addition to the traditional curriculum.
Planeterra raised donations to fund needed bicycles and other materials for the Ocean Academy to develop a student-led bicycle tour of the island. To learn more about this project follow this link:

Planeterra Foundation is a non-profit organization that has contributed millions of dollars towards projects in areas of social enterprise, healthcare, conservation, and emergency response. With an annual contribution from G Adventures to support our operating costs as well as a significant portion of project development costs, Planeterra can invest 100% of public and corporate donations towards project development.
