National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) 2026

We proudly congratulate our very own designated faculty-researcher, Assoc. Prof. Sheryl Dinglasan-Fenol, and her team for having been hailed as finalist in the National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) 2026.

Their innovation, KArbonโ€”a kaong-based activated carbon with a pending patent filed with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippinesโ€”marks a historic milestone as CvSU's first-ever qualifying entry to NICE. It is among the top five national finalists under the LIKHA Award - Outstanding Creative Research (Government-Funded Category).

KArbon previously earned First Place in the same category during the Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits - South Luzon Cluster (ClusteRICE) 2025 held at DOST-PSHS Batangas City.

Joining Assoc. Prof. Fenol in the team are her co-inventors, namely Mr. John Laurence Herrera, Mr. Daeniel Mojica, Dr. Lorenzo Lapitan Jr., Mr. Yves Roy Tibayan, Dr. Agnes Alimboyoguen, Ms. Vanjie Otadoy, and Ms. Zoe Keziah Baltazar.

May this achievement inspire more innovators to turn ideas into impactful solutions for our communities and the nation.
