【HKBU School of Business’ fintech programme & students recognised at IFTA Fintech and Innovation Awards】

HKBU School of Business has attained impressive results at the IFTA Fintech and Innovation Awards 2021/2022, with three students and the Master of Science in Finance (Fintech and Financial Analysis) programme (MSc FTFA) being awarded for their innovations and contributions to drive developments in Hong Kong

The Msc FTFA programme received the Diamond Award in Honorary Fintech Education & Talent Development Awards category. Our three students and graduates were also named ‘Star in the Making’, with Kar Yan YEUNG (MScCGC, 2021) winning the Excellence award, and Mathias Awuni (MScFTFA, 2021) and Hejian MA (BBA in ISEM/FINE, Year 4) receiving the Merit awards.

【Outstanding business student receives The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship】

Congratulations to our student Lewei HE (BBA in Finance, Year 2) who has been awarded the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship for 2021-22 in recognition of her exceptional academic achievements and dedication to community service.

Lewei HE has participated in numerous activities on campus, and has been a devoted volunteer since joining the Hong Kong Baptist University - School of Business. She has engaged in voluntary work to help educate underprivileged children and serve the disadvantaged in Hong Kong. She has also been developing her leadership skills by enrolling in programmes that allowed her to explore solutions for real-world problems.

【Welcome students】

The new academic year has started! More than 50 students joined the MSc Finance (Fintech & Financial Analytics) programme orientation on campus with 20 students joining online.

Mr. Alan Cheung (Senior Director, Trust and AI Technologies of ASTRI), Ms Alice So (Head of Entrepreneurship of Cyberport), Ms Jenny Chow (Chairperson of Regtech Association of Hong Kong), Dr Lawrence Ma, (Founder and President of Hong Kong Blockchain Society), and Professor of Practice Samson Tai (former Distinguished Engineer & Chief Technology Officer of IBM China/Hong Kong) joined a discussion on “How transforms the finance industry”, facilitated by the Programme Director, Professor Aris Stouraitis, and the Associate Programme Director, Ms Queenie Lee.

The guests shared their industry experiences and insights with our new students.
