American Corner Prizren

As part of the celebrations marking the 250th Anniversary of the United States, we had the pleasure of welcoming Joshua Peterson, Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Embassy and currently serving as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission.

During an engaging session with local youth, Joshua delivered an excellent presentation about the state of Minnesota, sharing insights into its rich culture, natural beauty, and famous “10,000 Lakes.” He also spoke about his journey as a diplomat, offering a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges of diplomatic life, as well as some of his most memorable experiences throughout his career.

Participants learned about the many attractions that make Minnesota special and gained a better understanding of the role of diplomacy in today’s world. Joshua openly discussed the pros and cons of being a diplomat, providing valuable advice and inspiration for young people interested in international careers.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where the youth enthusiastically “bombarded” him with questions about the United States, Minnesota, diplomacy, and many other topics.

Today marks the beginning of one of the greatest sporting events in the world – the FIFA World Cup 2026!

The tournament will be hosted by three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The United States will host matches in 11 amazing states/cities: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Seattle, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

As football fans around the globe celebrate this spectacular event, American Corner Prizren is also getting ready to be part of the excitement. We are planning to screen the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final and several selected matches throughout the tournament.

Join us as we celebrate the world's most popular sport, enjoy unforgettable moments, and share the excitement of this historic World Cup together!

Step by step, they are building valuable skills in Python programming, preparing themselves for future opportunities in technology and beyond.

Today, our English Teaching Assistant, Lillian Duma, held her final activity with her group of young participants.

Throughout her service at the American Corner Prizren, Lillian organized and led numerous engaging sessions, introducing students to a wide range of topics related to American culture, history, values, society, and everyday life in the United States. Through discussions, presentations, and interactive activities, she helped participants strengthen their English skills while gaining a deeper understanding of American life and culture.

For their last meeting, the group watched a short movie together and shared a final conversation, reflecting on the experiences, friendships, and knowledge they gained throughout the program.

We are grateful for Lillian’s dedication, enthusiasm, and positive impact on our youth and community.
