After two weeks filled with academic and cultural activities, the Prishtina International Summer University came to a close today.

In front of participating professors and students, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha, spoke about the importance of this event and the meaningful work done throughout all activities.

Prof. Kohei Arai from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Saga University in Japan shared his impressions from his stay in Kosovo, alongside his co-lecturer, Prof. Arbnor Pajaziti from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Together, they led a course on the use of artificial intelligence in collecting and analyzing big data in economics.

Representing the international students, Tim de Jong highlighted the open-minded spirit of the Kosovar people and shared his hope for Kosovo’s integration into the EU—promising to return after drinking “a lot of water from the Prizren fountain.”

From the local students, Jona Kasumi from the Faculty of Law reflected on her experience in the course on transitional justice and the enriching exchange with students from abroad.

During the ceremony, certificates were distributed to both international and local professors in recognition of their work.

Over the past two weeks, professors from the University of Prishtina and abroad delivered 16 different courses to local and international students. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in banking and finance to memory culture and the journey of cultural artifacts from their places of origin to museums.
