Balkanistics Study Programme

Balkanistics Study Programme The Programme offers international professors and enhanced international mobility and internship opportunities.

The Balkanistics Study Programme is a recently established BA language study programme at the Faculty of Philology, University in Pristina, which was accredited by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency. It aims to improve cross-linguistic and cross-cultural communication in Kosovo and the Western Balkans region, by training competent professionals in linguistics and translation in the official languages in Kosovo, as well as by preparing professionals in cross-cultural teaching of local languages in their future career. Students at the Programme will learn from international and local experts about the linguistic and cultural features of the Balkans. Through the study of languages and dialects, literature and folklore, cultural heritage and the common history of the Balkans, students will be able to better understand each other’s culture , putting their adapted perspectives from these comparative academic studies to good use in their professional and academic careers.
