Week of Women

Week of Women Week of Women is an annual event that began in 2012, implemented by NDI Kosovo.

Week of Women (WoW) is an annual nationwide event that gathers, in a multi-ethnic setting, more than 120 women and men from political parties, civil society, business, media, and academia, with the aim of expanding the capacities of local women leaders skilled to assume greater leadership positions. Over the past eleven years, WoW has become a critical venue for policy debate and intensive discussion with leading politicians and elected officials. It enables participants to hold their representatives to account while simultaneously advancing, and shining a spotlight on women’s leadership.

The closing conference marks the end of this year’s programme, but not the end of the journey. Participants leave with new knowledge, meaningful connections, fresh perspectives, and a growing network of people committed to turning ideas into action.

Brikena Berisha, Program Manager at the Iniciativa Kosovare per Stabilitet - IKS and Member of the Women's Economic Forum, presented the key outcomes and recommendations emerging from this year’s discussions.

From local policy debates to national conversations, participants identified challenges and priorities that can help shape stronger cooperation between institutions and create more opportunities for women to have a meaningful role in public life.
