ICNA-STA Scientific Conference 2023
Within the framework of the project “Enhancing Research Culture in Higher Education in Kosovo (ResearchCult)”, supported by Erasmus +, with funds from the European Union, at the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” is taking place the “International Conference on New Achievements in Science, Technology and Arts” – ICNA-STA”. The conference is co-organized with International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) and a number of local and international universities and higher education institutions. It intends to bring together the international and Kosovar academic staff, researchers, students, businesses and other local and international stakeholders aiming to share their scientific experiences, best practices and steer up cooperation in related fields.
We were thrilled to announce the opening of the Conference yesterday!
Our esteemed key speeches, including the Rector of the University of Prishtina Prof. Dr. Qerim Qerimi, Ms. Bora Shpuza from MESTI, Ambassador of Italy to Kosovo HE Antonello DE RIU, Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo HE Danijela Barišić, and Mr. Avni Hajdari(Chair of Conference) delivered welcome speeches and shared their insights on the project's achievements.
Furthermore, Mr. Bujar Gallopeni, ResearchCult Project Coordinator, presented the ResearchgCult project outcomes and impact now at the edge of project end.
We were excited to kick off the first plenary session of our conference with three incredible keynote speakers!
Prof. Andrew Collins from the University of Oslo, Norway sharing his insights on DNA damage and repair in a retrospective talk. Prof. Mária Dusinšká from the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) presented new approaches to hazard and risk assessment of nanomaterials from a RiskGONE perspective. Dr. Igor Belic from the Institute for Forensics and Information Technology (iFIT) in Slovenia has discussed topic on neural network approximation and sampling rate.

The Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Dan Shechtman, Technion, Haifa - Israel, and ISU, Ames, Iowa - USA, will deliver a Keynote speech on topic "Quasi-Periodic Materials – A Paradigm Shift in Crystallograph", an incredible research experience to share with the research community and audience. Today was launched the Kosovo Research Information System (KRIS) (www.kris.rks-gov.net) supported by the ResearchCult Erasmus+ funded project, in collaboration with project, and Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI).
KRIS has been built as a repository and regulatory system to collect data and generate statistics about research indicators in Kosovo, in five main modules: Research institutions, Researchers – and their publications/research portfolio, Research infrastructure, Research projects/funding, and Research journals – open access.
This has been one of the main project milestones, contributing to the Kosovo's enhanced systematic research data and information.

ResearchCult Project Coordinator, Bujar Gallopeni, and professor from project partner University of Sapienza, FIorenza Deriu, met with all university partners in Kosovo to discuss progress and implementation of project Work Package 2 activities, which supported universities to Establish and increase capacities of Research Support Offices, development of research office regulations, and development of the university research strategic plans.

ICNA-STA Scientific Conference 2023
Within the framework of the project “Enhancing Research Culture in Higher Education in Kosovo (ResearchCult)”, supported by Erasmus +, with funds from the European Union, the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” is organizing the “International Conference on New Achievements in Science, Technology and Arts” – ICNA-STA”. The conference is co-organized with a number of local and international universities and higher education institutions. It intends to bring together the international and Kosovar academic staff, researchers, students, businesses and other local and international stakeholders aiming to share their scientific experiences, best practices and steer up cooperation in related fields.
In addition, the conference attempts to create a friendly environment where multinational researchers community arrays from different fields can use interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to link the research with economic development. Through plenary sessions, oral and poster presentations, the participants will have the possibility to exchange opinions, introduce ideas and practical knowledge, which will be an opportunity, especially for young colleagues.
On behalf of the Organizing and Scientific Committees of the Conference, it is our great pleasure to invite all professors, researchers and scholars to submit abstracts and attend the “International Conference on New Achievements in Science, Technology and Arts” – ICNA-STA”, which will take place from 4th – 5th May 2023, in Prishtina, Kosova.
Format of the event:
The two-day event will consist of:
• plenary sessions
• thematic sessions
• poster presentations
The conference is anticipated to be held through the physical presence.
The language of the conference will be English.

Consultative meetings with university partners in Kosovo are taking place with the purpose of defining and establishing scientific journals. The ResearchCult project supports the establishment of at least six (6) scientific journals in different research areas, based on developed national standards for scientific journals, which were developed with the support of international partners, such as University of Zagreb, University of Sapienza, and University of National and World Economy.
