The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority, formally named the Vanuatu National Training Council, is responsible for providing and implementing quality learning and training systems and providing support to training providers to assure skills training is responsive to the economic and social development needs of Vanuatu and is valued internationally.

OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE

Please be advised that the Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) office will be closed from 9–11 June 2026 as staff will be attending a Capacity Building Workshop on Policy Development.

Normal office operations will resume on Friday, 12 June 2026.

Public Notice: Clarification on Pacific Group AI Training
The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) would like to clarify information currently circulating regarding Pacific Group AI training programmes and the certificates issued to participants.

Pacific Group AI delivers short training workshops and half-day sessions, primarily for organisational teams within government agencies and NGOs.

VQA advises that:

β€’ These activities are classified as workshops or short-term training programmes.
β€’ Participants receive a Certificate of Participation upon completion.
β€’ The certificates issued are not accredited by VQA.
β€’ These certificates do not constitute nationally recognised qualifications under the VQA framework.

VQA encourages the public, employers, and stakeholders to verify the accreditation status of any training programme or qualification before enrolment or recognition.

The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority acknowledges the official opening of the Provincial Government Training Board (PGTB) Induction Workshop on Monday, 11 May 2026, in Luganville, Santo, by Hon. Simil Johnson, Minister of Education and Training.

The three-day workshop brings together board members, provincial representatives, government officials, and development partners to strengthen governance, leadership, and accountability in skills development across Vanuatu.

The workshop also supports the Government’s commitment to improving access to training opportunities, particularly for women, youth, persons with disabilities, and rural communities, while aligning provincial skills development with national priorities and local economic opportunities.

Public Notice

The Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA) informs the public that ABTS has ceased all new student enrolments in compliance with the VQA Act, pending formal registration approval.

ABTS is also in the process of removing all promotional materials as part of its commitment to meeting regulatory requirements.

The public is advised to remain informed and ensure that any training provider and programme are properly registered with VQA before enrolling.
