Japan and France have joined hands to support the construction of a brand-new Judo-Jo (Judo Hall) in Port Vila — a safe, cyclone-resistant facility that will replace training spaces damaged during the 2024 earthquake.

Valued at over VUV 24 million, the project will provide a proper home for the Vanuatu Judo Federation, its 139 young athletes, and its dedicated coaches.

The collaboration brings together funding from Japan, solar power support from France, land generously shared by the Vanuatu Tennis Club, and continued coaching assistance from JICA volunteers.
