After 4 years of being in Vung Tau, it's bitter sweet to say we're closing The Lab (for now) and moving on to our next adventure. We want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the years and also believed in our vision of what education could be.
There have been ups and downs along the way, but every moment has been important and meaningful. To me (Lavender), The Lab is my child and will be my child forever. I've been growing up with it and learned so many lessons from The Lab. I still remember how scared I was when the first time I stood in front of more than 500 high school students introducing about The Lab. My speech was horrible. I was freaking out. But, it showed me where was my weakness and what I should learn more. I also remember how satisfying it was when I organized my first beach cleanup. After that I felt like I could do anything. So after all, I am thankful for every thing we've been through together. And this is not a goodbye I believe.
For me (Peter), the Lab was a place to push boundaries, to get people to believe they could do the impossible. I cherish every conversation that we had about gender, culture, and possibilities. My favorite question to ask people was not what do you want to do in life, but what problem you want to solve in the world. Through the Lab, I've been able to meet people from all different backgrounds who wanted to dream with us, to envision what a more perfect community could be, and to experiment with those ideas. So although we're ending one chapter of story, this is definitely not the end, but rather one step along our journey of trying to have even just a small impact on our world.
Thanks again for all the love and support. We're in town for about another week, so if you want to hangout and say "see you later" give us a call!
