When a child accidentally hurts a peer or breaks their toy, forcing them to immediately shout "Say sorry!" usually results in a robotic response without true understanding or empathy.

Redirect focus to the impact 😟: Instead of lecturing the child, draw their attention to their friend: "Look, his knee is hurt, and he is crying right now." This visual prompt fires up mirror neurons, helping the child naturally connect with another person's distress.

Encourage "Healing Actions" over empty words 🩹: Suggest practical steps: "Would you like to help me fetch a tissue to clean his scrape?" or "Should we bring him a comforting toy?". Guiding them to actively repair the situation teaches genuine accountability and deep empathy far better than a forced apology.
