The DAAD – AIT Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for international students to pursue a Master’s degree at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand.
The program aims to strengthen higher education systems and foster sustainable development in Southeast Asia.

Eligible Countries
Applicants must be nationals of one of the following countries:
Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
Eligible Fields of Study
The scholarship supports Master’s programs offered under AIT’s School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), particularly in:
Development and Sustainability (DS)
Gender and Development Studies (GDS)
Natural Resources Management (NRM)
Scholarship Coverage (Fully Funded)
The DAAD–AIT Scholarship covers:
Full tuition and registration fees at AIT
Monthly living allowance (approx. EUR 500 per month)
Accommodation support on campus
Research and thesis allowance
Health insurance
Travel allowance (round-trip ticket from home country to Thailand and return)
Duration
The Master’s program duration is approximately 22 months (two academic years).
Application Deadline
The application deadline is November 15, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4 years or equivalent) with above-average academic performance (upper third of class).
Must have graduated within the last 6 years at the time of application.
At least 2 years of professional experience in a field related to the program.
Must demonstrate English language proficiency:
IELTS (Academic) ≥ 6.0 or equivalent TOEFL score.
