Veteran actress Suhasini Mulay, known for her roles in Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar, stayed single for six decades not for lack of proposals, but because she refused to settle for anything less than a relationship built on true equality. She joined Facebook on a co-star's suggestion to find work, but instead stumbled upon the profile of Atul Gurtu, a renowned physicist working on the Large Hadron Collider. The two married within just 75 days of their first meeting. Now 75, Suhasini reflects that she was criticised both for staying single and for marrying at 60, proving that love truly has no age limit.

With the monsoon arriving later than expected, water levels in the city's seven lakes have dropped to just 9.33% of their total capacity, leaving Mumbai with an estimated 40 days of water supply. The sharp decline has raised concerns among residents and authorities, especially as the city relies heavily on these reservoirs to meet its daily water needs.
Officials are closely monitoring the situation and hoping for stronger rainfall in the coming weeks to replenish the lakes. If the monsoon remains weak, Mumbai could face stricter water management measures as the city has not seen a brink of rain.

Sri Lanka’s government has taken a major step that is now being discussed beyond its borders. The lifetime pension given to Members of Parliament after retirement has been completely abolished, ending a long-standing political privilege.
Speaking in Parliament, the country’s justice minister said that the conduct and quality of debate shown by many MPs does not justify the burden of lifelong pensions on public money. With 154 votes in favour, the government repealed a 49-year-old law, sending a strong message on accountability.
This decision reflects a clear shift in political thinking. Public leadership, the government has indicated, should be about service to the people, not guaranteed financial benefits for life after leaving office.
Sri Lanka’s move has sparked discussion in many democracies, including India, about whether MPs and MLAs should continue receiving lifelong pensions simply for holding office.
Should such pensions also be stopped in India?

The UAE has banned social media for children under 15, becoming the latest country to tighten online safety rules for minors. Under the Cabinet resolution reported by WAM, children below 15 cannot create or manage accounts or use features like posting, commenting, sharing, or joining public groups and channels. Social media firms have 12 months to identify and disable all under-15 accounts. Non-compliance could lead to warnings, fines, or partial to complete platform bans in the UAE. Media and telecom authorities will oversee enforcement.
The move puts the UAE alongside Australia, the UK, and Canada. Australia introduced an under-16 ban in December, and the UK announced similar restrictions this week, amid growing global concern over social media’s impact on children’s safety and mental health.

Air India is testing a new "Economy Basic" ticket on select routes that may not include free meals. The airline says the move could help keep ticket prices lower and give passengers the option to pay only for the services they want.
Under the new plan, travelers can still buy food and other extras separately if needed. The trial comes as airlines around the world look for ways to cut costs and offer cheaper ticket options.
The announcement has already sparked reactions online, with many passengers asking: Would you give up a free meal for a cheaper flight ticket?
