The broth is simmered for 6 to 12 hours with cinnamon, star anise, grilled onion, grilled ginger, and other warm spices—especially pure fish sauce.
Today, I visited the ""Phở Bắc Hải"" brand, located at 19 Thuốc Bắc Street in Hanoi. They have over 25 years of experience serving this dish. I ordered a regular bowl with a mix of raw and cooked beef (no tendon, because of my limited budget). It costs 40K VND. This wasn’t my first time here.
The broth was really delicious, complex, but it was a bit too flavorful for my taste.
Rating: 8/10.
