Meet The AVE Educators

Across AVE Academy's three campuses, over 300 students are taught, supported, and mentored by a huge team of people: 20 international teachers, our teaching assistants and extracurricular staff, our senior management and admin team, and the cooking, cleaning, and maintenance employees who keep everything running behind the scenes.

It's a diverse, close-knit family, and every single person in it takes your child's education seriously.

It takes a village to raise a child!

A wonderfully diverse day in Class 5A

In English, we explored anthropomorphism by imagining how our chosen animals move, sound, and interact with one another. In Math, we delved into the world of triangles and angles, completing some stimulating exercises.

Our Science lesson had us outdoors! The class explored the parts of a flower and took a nature walk around An Vien to find and sketch their favorite blooms, noting details like shape, colour, scent, and petal count. We also continued our Geography unit on the water cycle.

What a busy and creative day it was!

Year 8 Science: Lung Dissection

A diagram can show you where the bronchi sit. It can't show you how light a lung is, or what happens when you inflate one.

This week our Year 8 scientists worked through a full lung dissection, tracing the respiratory system from the trachea down. They found the rings of cartilage that hold the airway open, followed the split into the left and right bronchi, and cut through to see the bronchioles branching smaller and smaller into spongy tissue. Then they inflated the lungs and watched them expand and recoil.

Naming the parts was the starting point, not the goal. Students linked what they were holding to what happens every time they breathe: why the airway has to stay rigid under pressure, why the inner surface of a lung is enormous and paper-thin, and how oxygen crosses into the blood in a fraction of a second.

Carried out with full lab protocol, proper PPE, and genuine respect for the specimen.

Practical science, done properly.

Weekly Activities Recap

Here is a look back at this week at AVE Academy.

Alongside focused academic learning, our students also took part in a variety of physical, creative, and enrichment activities throughout the week. These moments give them time to move, explore their interests, express themselves, and connect with one another beyond the classroom.

At AVE, we believe that learning is not only about academic progress. It is also about creating space for students to develop confidence, creativity, wellbeing, and a healthy sense of balance as they grow.

Back to School Recap Video

Here is a short recap of our opening day as we welcomed students and families back to campus. It was wonderful seeing everyone connect with teachers, explore their classrooms, and settle into the routines for the term ahead.

Thank you to all the parents and students who joined us to start the academic year. We look forward to working together in the months to come.

School is officially back in session!

It was so good to see all our students back with so many familiar faces and plenty of new ones joining the AVE family this year. At our first assembly, founder Mr. Menzies introduced everyone to Principal Ms. Darling and our new Vice-Principal, Mr. Kimball, along with the rest of our new teaching team.

Students also got their first look at everything that changed over summer break: a brand-new sports field at Campus 3, a huge extension at Campus 1, and upgrades across Campus 2. We'd also like to congratulate Year 7's Mahi on her Academic Excellence Award for receiving top grades and constantly striving for success.

These first couple of days are all about settling back in, getting familiar with new faces, new spaces, and new routines before Term 1 officially kicks off next week.

Here's to an amazing year of learning, fun, and adventure ahead!

Welcome Back, AVE Families!

It's almost time. After a summer of preparation behind the scenes, we're nearly ready to welcome everyone back next week.

This year looks different at AVE. We now have 20 international teachers on our team, a completed Campus 1 expansion, and a new sports field that the students are going to love. There's also a new leadership team in place, and with that comes a genuine rethink of where AVE is going and what we want it to become.

The staff have been hard at work getting the campuses, classrooms, and programs ready. There's a feeling around the school right now that this year is going to be something worth remembering. We don't say that every year!!!

2026/2027 is the year we've been building toward. We'll see everyone this week.
