In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for government to impose a higher tax on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Nowadays, people are always on the go and rarely spend time cooking by themselves. In this case, fast food becomes an important part of their life. However, the number of people who suffering from diabetes, high cholesterol, or cancer, etc as a consequence of overeating fast food are increasing day by day. Some people think that it is necessary for government to apply heavy taxes on fast food. Personally, I partly agree with this idea because of the following reasons.

On one hand, it cannot be denied that implementing high tax on junk food would discourage consumers, especially children, from eating so much it. Clearly, only when they have to pay a big amount of money for the food causing their health’s problem, can they stop buying it. As a result, they will turn to spend their part time cooking at home to save money. Take Denmark as a telling example, It was one of the first countries to introduce high tax on fast food such as butter, potato chips and many processed foods. In addition, the fast food processing companies would have to face with the threat of bankruptcy because of high tax. Therefore, the consumers will have less choice of fast food and it leads to the reduction of fast food in their meals.

On the other hand, imposing heavy tax is believed not to be the only way to solve this problem, other effective methods need to be considered. First of all, governments should restrict the sale of junk food or limit advertisement, especially on school campus. Health education is said to be the second strategy. Not only children need to be aware of the danger of fast food which causes them suffer from many severe diseases such as: obesity, heat-attack… but their parents also supply nutritious food as well as encourage them to participate in outdoor activities.

In conclusion, it is clear that government need to pay more attention to reduce the rate of people suffering from sickness caused by fast food. However, it is up to each individual’s choice of the food he/she wants to eat, they need to care more about their meals and do exercise regularly in order to have a healthier life.

The only way to reduce the amount of traffic is by reducing the need to travel from home to work, education or shopping. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, overloading traffic is one of major problems which cause unwanted deaths. There are some people who hold the view that reducing the demands of people in travelling from home to workplace, schools or shopping is the best way to cut down traffic while others hold a contradict view. Personally, while I suppose that the former view has its own merits, I also believe that other solutions should be introduced.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that daily commuting is not always necessary because it is said that workers can work at home. Thanks to the brilliant innovation of cutting-edge technology, it is possible for people to communicate with each other or obtain useful information via internet. By sending an email or leaving a message through facebook or gmail, employees can smoothly hand in their documents for their boss or discuss about new projects with colleagues. Moreover, staying at home is not only convenient for people but it also helps them to avoid pollutions which cause serious diseases such as respiratory-related disease and heart disease.
On the other hand, it seems to me that reducing the needs of people to go out is not agreeable for everyone. The first reason for this would be that although home working helps people keep away from being damaged by polluted air, it does not mean workers will commune with any diseases. Take obesity as a telling example, which cause dozens of other related-illness like cardiovascular and diabetes, is partly resulted from the lack of exercises and activities. Moreover, working environment is considered to be the best way to improve personal skills for workers like communication and competition skills which are vital. Only by making conversations with others regularly, can workers enhance their mutual understandings with their partners. Furthermore, solutions for overcrowded traffic are vast. For instance, highways should be built up more to reduce the number of vehicles in main roads.

In conclusion, although this practice would be acceptable for tackling traffic problems, it is possibly not always effective for everyone. Thus, other measures should be introduced to create an all-round traffic for every countries.

One of the consequences of improved medical care is that people are living longer and life expectancy is increasing. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

In the past 50 years, the advancement of health care has been a big jump which leads to the significant increase in number of life span of human beings. Although this tendency brings a lot of benefits for people, its drawbacks also vast. Personally, it seems to me that the downward side surpasses the upward one.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that the immensely development of health service results in some drawbacks. The first one would be that if the number of the elderly boost too fast, there will be an imbalanced trend between mortality rate and birth rate. As a consequence, there is possibly a shortage of labor force which is vital for the development of a country. In fact, in many European countries, the lack of workers is always an urgent issue for their government. As far as the number of employees concerned, having longer life duration, the olds would think that they are a big burden for their children who are always occupied with their own works and family. Therefore, the senior citizens would probably extract depression and other mental diseases.

On the other hand, besides the disadvantages of expanding life expectancy, the advantages of this tendency appear to be considerably significant. It is high improved medical services that are prone to the enhancement in social life of human. Thus, every people include the elderly deserve to be served by advanced services. Moreover, people should have longer life span to savor the peaceful time of their life after years taking after their children. They can also join hands to take care of their grandchildren and do household chores.

In conclusion, thanks to the enhanced medical care, people have more opportunities to enjoy their life. However, the disadvantages of this trend are higher in number of the advantages. Therefore, it is necessary for government to find agreeable solutions to create a better life for citizens.

Task 2 – Many students find it difficult to focus on study at school. What r cause and solution

In modern world, many children find it difficult to concentrate on studying at school. It is a well-known fact that this is because of theoretical teaching at school and the attraction of new technology. There are several effects caused by this adverse trend. However, i believe, there are several measures to overcome this problem.

There are several reasons for the lack of concentration of children at school. One of the most obvious prolems caused by theoretical teaching course at school without practical guidance. As a result, children were crammed by too many theoretical knowledge but lack of working skills. Following that, students may feel tired of words and numbers and often play truant. In addition, new technology is another culprit. Facts have shown that children could not completely focus on their lesson with phone’s bell, music sounds and Ipod screen flashing in front of their eyes all the time. The third deleterious effect is peer pressure. Being surrounded by lazy friends with bad behavior may involve them in evil temptations instead of paying attention to study. Parents are partly responsible for this phenomenon. It is true that parents who are busy concerned with earning money but careless about their children’s academic performance make their children forget their role of learning seriously.

There are numerous solutions for this unwanted situation. First of all, it is high time education planners changed the curriculums of school towards exercise practice. Children need to experience harsh trials to get improve their skills. Furthermore, harsh rules and punishment should be applied to prevent children from being addicted to technology. For example, students who are noticed using mobile phone or any other technology equipment for entertainment purpose during lesson time will be ejected right away from classes and all their devices will be taken away. Another option is that parents should spend part of their life to guide their children the good way to study and keep them away from social evils. Furthermore, educational program for self-study should be shown more on TV instead of advertisements and useless entertainment programs.

In a nutshell, causes and solutions are many to be found, but the most important is the students need to know how to organize their study and their entertainment reasonably and schools or parents should cooperate together to supervise their students and children to help them study better.

Task 2 - Children’s education is expensive. In some countries, governments pay partly or all education fees. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

It cannot be denied that children education fee nowadays is quite expensive. It is common that governments pay partly or all education fees in some countries. There are certainly some benefits as well as drawbacks to this scenario. And I will shed a light on both views in this essay.
On one hand, there are many benefits of this trend. There are plausible reasons for supporting the former view. First of all, it is undeniable that poor students who are outstanding can receive an opportunity to reach the highest quality of their academic and give birth to wonderful creations. Facts have shown that the rate of social crime is much lower in some countries where all children of different ages can go to school. Being attracted by learning and finding new things, children will stay away from evils and have a highly responsible role of learning. Furthermore, when children’s education fee is free, parents could save some more money to work on something which helps them increase their life’s quality. For example, some parents used the money to buy new equipment for their business which not only improving the quality of what they create but also help developing the country’s economic. With good education as well, children know the rules and drive seriously on streets, have a responsibility on what they do, respect other people and learn to protect their health at the early age.
On the other hand, it is considered that free education is a significant pressure on state’s budget. While governments have to pour big amount of money into preventing diseases, natural disasters, poverty to terrorism,… it would be more burdensome for them to shoulder education fees. Another threat worth preparing for is that the students will become dependence on government’s money. In this circumstance, is truly known that students will not lose their money for education whether they come to school or not. By dint of this, they will pay less attention on their study and become lazy to work by themselves to make their own money.
In conclusion, the most important thing the world care about nowadays is knowledge. That is why education should be in the hand of all people in the world, not the exclusive product of some rich people.

Children’s education is expensive. In some countries, governments pay partly or all education fees. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
In the modern world nowadays, education plays the most important role of the development of each country, especially the developing countries. Whether or not education fees should be freed for every student remains controversial. From my point of view, there are more advantages than disadvantages in this opinion and in this essay, I will outline the most important reasons.
On the one hand, free education fees brings not only the students but also the society many benefits. It is irrefutable that the universities can receive a wider range of talented people who can not afford to sail through five or six years of studying. As a result, companies can have a chance to select higher qualified employers which help them in their business. Once there are more well-trained workers, developing countries can reach a higher level, and developed countries continue to remain their achievements. Furthermore, without worrying about tuition fees which affects directly to family life, students will be able to absorb knowledge better and pass with flying colors. Indeed, parents can also take many advantages of free education fees. They can save money for future and invest on other aspects to earn more for a higher living standard.
Like in everything else, there are undoubtedly two sides to this issue. First of all, it is a big burden for the government. In fact, there are many more urgent problems which are needed to be solved such as water and air pollution, hunger, etc. it could be harder for the government when they pour such a big amount of money on tuition cost.
In conclusion, it is clear that while this development has ensured several necessary changes, it has also made society vulnerable to some unpleasant ones. In my opinion, both students and governments should cooperate to pay for education cost in order to reduce the disadvantages.

People have paid little attention to their neighbors due to the high speed of living, especially in big cities. There are some people who hold the view that this is because of attraction of cutting edge technology, while others argue that people’s busy lives is the main culprit. My essay will shed light on both causes and solutions of this issue.

There are quite plausible reasons for the indifferent of people to their neighbors who live right next to them. Firstly, business from the job is making people always on the go and have no time for others activity. For instance, people living in large cities are mainly concerned with earning money to higher their standard of living and rarely spend time with their family, friends, and people surround. As a result, people in many cities seems like Robinson in their own house. Another reason is the cutting edge technology that brings many entertainment equipment with high speed connectivity. Thanks to facebook, twitter, yahoo, skype, and so on, we do not need to go out but can make friend and still keep in touch with people who far away from us. In addition, many famous companies in Technology world have created smart phones or tablets such as Iphone, ipod, ipad,(etc) with large application stores which really attract these users which makes them do not want to spend time talking with neighbor.

To tackle this problem, i think the best solution is to reduce the working hours. If they do not have to work from day to night, people would have some more time to care about their family, their friends and also their neighbors. Another option is that neighborhood should organize more outdoor activities for the local people. For example, there should be BBQ party on the weekend, or music show for people who are interested in singing and dancing could be able to show their talent. When participating in activities with others, people will feel in high spirits and give birth to the most creative products. Furthermore, government should encourage establishing some different clubs in each street like gym club, running club, music club or travelling club. Being able to joy in club activities, local people can take an opportunity to meet each other, to hang out and work as a team to become close friends. Therefore, the sense of community will be grown significantly and give people peaceful minutes after tense of working hours.

In conclusion, it is clear that there are many reasons and solutions for this trend. However, people had better harmonize their time of working and relaxing as well as spend a part of their time communicating with their neighbors to gain a better life in the modern society.

Dear my talented students,

Please refer the following essay about Television.

Task 2: Television is dangerous because it destroys family life and any sense of community; instead of visiting people or talking with our family we jus watch television. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is noticeable that Television has become an important part of every family that we cannot live without. However, there are some people who hold the view that it is quite dangerous to spend too much time watching TV because it may bring negative impact on our family relationship as well as the community. Personally, I partly agree with this idea because of the following reasons.

On one hand, it is clear that Televison brings some drawbacks for onlookers.. Firstly, TV is believed to prevent people from communicating face to face together. For instance, in Vietnam, while dinner is supposed to be the most valuable moment for family’s members to share ups and downs with each other, people only tend to stick their eyes on the screen of TV and forget to interact with people surrounding. As a result, people are likely to become a 'couch potato' and indifferent from their family, friends and also being an anti-social. Moreover, spending too much time watching a box makes watchers, especially youngster, become lazier. Being attracted from interesting programs, they do not want to participate in social or outdoor activities which leads to some serious diseases such as obesity, short-sighted eyes, heart disease or even autism.

On the other hand, it is undeniable that television is a good way for entertainment. After the whole tiring day at work, we could release stress thanks to the wonderful programs on TV . Furthermore, television also helps us absorb more knowledge and information around the world such as from news. In this way, we can discuss and share with the family as well as community about the event that is happening around us and perhaps by discussing, this could make the relationship between family and peers better.

The increasing demand for oil and gas has made it necessary to look for these sources of energy in remote and untouched natural places. Do you think the advantages of locating oil and gas in these places outweigh the disadvantages of damaging these places?

In the world nowadays, the demand of energy such as oil and gas has increased significantly. It is supposed that the government of each country should encourage people to find new sources in remote or untouched places. Just as a coin has two sides, so does this problem have both advantages and disadvantages. And this essay will tackle the most important ones.

On one hand, there are many benefits of this trend. If scientists could find out available sources in space, there would be some more alternative sources of oil and gas in order to provide more energy for human life. In addition, searching for alternative sources in untouched places may lead us to new creature as well as new information about something. As a result, it will be a big jump step in Science and Technology industry for developing countries. Furthermore, finding out energy sources such as oil and gas in remote can provide more employment opportunities to local residents, who are likely to increase their income.

On the other hand, it is considered that looking for sources in strange places is a significant pressure on state’s budget. While governments have to pour big amount of money into preventing diseases, natural disasters, poverty to terrorism,… it would be more burdensome for them to deal with plenty of problems relating to this scenario. Moreover, in case of unwanted accidents, risks caused by exploiting energy source in natural places could put people in danger. For example, some serious oil spill accidents happened several years ago, resulting from the wrong operation within the process of oil drilling. This accident led to a series of problems, such as ocean water pollution and mass fish deaths.

To sum up, it is clear that the advantages of exploitation energy sources outnumber the disadvantages. It is up to each country’s decision to pour a big amount of money into investigating sources of fuels in a completely strange place to help people have a better life in modern society.
